February 28, 201313 yr Cobra do a half decent tasting alcohol free lager, which is probably an oxymoron. I bought a dozen a while ago and didn't suss out that it was having no effect whatsoever. One drawback, though not as bad as Kaliber, is theamount of fart-gas it produces.
February 28, 201313 yr There's one in Tesco called Equator. It's no the best in the world: tastes a bit like shandy, but it has zero alcohol and for us fatties: zero calories.
February 28, 201313 yr Would you buy your favourite beer if you knew it had no Alcohol but still tasted the same? Edited February 28, 201313 yr by Didledee
February 28, 201313 yr Would you buy your favourite beer if you knew it had no Alcohol but still tasted the same? No, it's like drinking decaf coffee: pointless
February 28, 201313 yr Agree with all the sentiments above, but the closest thing to 'real' beer is the one Bavaria do (330ml cans) - I've only seen it in Morrisons. Very malty and almost convincing. Blue Becks is another of the least pissy ones. I'd rather just drink normal ale in moderation, which is becoming easier to do with age - I've reccognised when I'm getting the 'taste' and head home sharpish. This new thinking is also after a prolonged (longest of my adult life) period of abstinence.* * Kiss of death that, I'll probably go on a Jazza-esque bender after the weekend now....
February 28, 201313 yr Holts pubs do bottles of Clausthaler non-alcoholic lager at around £1.20 or so, which is OK and most folk don't even realise you're experimenting with homosexuality either , as they let you keep it in the bottle these days - folk must've stopped using them as ad-hoc weapons. February 28, 201313 yr Bavaria from Asda is pretty cheap and has more taste than most. I've grown partial to large glasses of slimline tonic served very cold with a slice of freshly cut lime and some ice. Pretty limped wristed I know but it hits the spot after gallons of plain old tap water. Edited February 28, 201313 yr by bgoefc
February 28, 201313 yr Would you buy your favourite beer if you knew it had no Alcohol but still tasted the same? It's not just about the taste or the effects, it's the whole package - you can't put it into words, it transcends words. It's fucking marvellous - you're missing out on one of life's greatest pleasures with total abstinence.

February 28, 201313 yr One of the Two Fat Ladies, erm...one fat lady, reckons her liver is fucked (and she's also a chubbmistress) is because of all the quinine she's consumed over the years (in her G'n'Ts) - classic alcoholic's denial. Edited February 28, 201313 yr by Youri McAnespie
February 28, 201313 yr Does the quinine not give you any side effects? Well the blurred vision is troublesome, but it keeps the malaria at bay
February 28, 201313 yr That one in the ground at Guimaraes had everyone lashed off 0.03%. Failing that, Barbican.
February 28, 201313 yr Well the blurred vision is troublesome, but it keeps the malaria at bay Fair play! I can't sup G&T these days, I thought it was the gin, but I was wrong.
February 28, 201313 yr My mrs was on the San Miguel and mahou non alcohol stuff in Lanzarote, both were ok
February 28, 201313 yr Now how can I say that I like the taste of ginger beer without torrents of piss taking
