my lad did his first away with his mates and without me even going for the Barnsley matchand this is the first season he's gone home games with his mates, watch actually good to see him getting ready, putting on his best clothes ( even though i think his clothes are fucking stupid ) excitedly talking to his mates about where to meet etc brought back the memories.

but yes, goes independently but I still have to pay, but to see two others " knock on" for him and him and them then go and gather the rest of his mates, some also on their first away, en route to the train was worth it.

Every one of the Bolton youth who go to Wanderers' games, home or away, is worth a hundred of the utter wankers who walk around in munich, liverpool, city or whoever shirts, but have never been to a football match in their lives.

In my youth it was easier when nearly everyone supported Bolton, so even more credit to today's youth for withstanding peer pressure or the fashion to gloryhunt & showing the backbone to stick with their unfashionable local side.

I mentioned it at the time, on Piccadilly coming back from Barnsley, a small group of Bolton yoof were belting out "We support our local team" while loads of munichs on the platforms kept their heads down. It rounded off a good day.

This is a remarkable development when you consider we have English football's two leading clubs including one that parades itself as "the biggest club in the world", to our south

Yes, and testimonony that BWFC's pricing model over the last few years has been right. I'm very fortunate to be a Wanderers fan, if I was born in Trafford and wanted to watch my local team I may never get the chance as they are sold out every game. I may have missed out travelling the country (and Europe) watching my club like we have done following the Whites. Doubt a 19 year old United fan can get a ticket to an away game, and so will miss out on all that character building of getting into a few scrapes and meeting some lifelong friends who share the same passion of football and beer. I love meeting up a Piccadily early doors on an away trip, having a few beers on the train, hitting a few pubs, then the match. A bit of cat and mouse with the OB. It's a great day. Some fans are not as fortunate as ourselves, we are lucky. My life would have been so different if I hadn't experienced being a yoof all those years ago

I think the away trips this season have been the best I can remember for years. The yoof have definitely step peeped up to the mark, they just need a leader like we had back in the days of the Lever End.

Group of 16-18 year old who stand behind us at Reebok do minibuses to a few away games, they've got a 16 seater booked for one coming up, I was never that organised for football at that age, fair play!

Agree especially the worth a 100 of the wankers who don't come from Manchester and walk round in United shirts or those who have just decided there city FFS get a life you cunts.

What we need is what tends to happen when you go away, is for everyone who wants to stand and be vocal to be in the same stand i.e. historically at the Reebok ESL. Also, some on here who say the Reebok is a crap atmosphere and stay away for that reason BUT do go to away games need to go to the Reebok and help create an atmosphere and not only help the youth of today, its your town, your club. The atmosphere has improved thanks to the young lads and maybe the club has recognised that with the under 23 deal? The family marketing ploy they had a few years ago does not create an atmosphere, most families can't afford it anymore FACT. Well done to all the youth, your club needs you!! It's good to see the lads creating an atmosphere, long may it contine! Well done!

I think 3 were let off at Barnsley, all one after the other, it looked amazing.

The problem is that these days you only have to throw a punch and you are looking at a sentence if they can prove it's football related.

It's really not worth it.

In the 70/80/90's there was no CCTV and the like too.

All that said it's nice to see a lot of well dressed young uns watching the whites.
