Glasgow Rangers Will Be Playing In The Pl Within Five Years

According to that ball bag of a chairman they've got.

As far as I'm concerned they can fuck right off (and Celtic, before anyone asks!)

Sensationalist shite brought out on slow news days.

Never happen.

I think its on the cards.

There is no way FIFA or Uefa or the Premier League will take them on in the European courts with Swansea and next year Cardiff playing in the EPL.

They will start off in the Conference me thinks.

Good opportunity to throw the Welsh teams out. After all, they voted for devolution and have their own league system. Funnily enough, Scottish independence will probably kill this off once and for all. Not sure if that will help or hinder that particular vote.

As for Rangers, good point about the carnage week on week (see also Celtic), which will be worse when you have to start at the very bottom of the league pyramid. There's a precedent for that (see the likes of Newport, Wimbledon etc) when starting over in the English league.

If they get a 'franchise' (like Portsmouth), we might as well turn the lights off and give up.

cardiff and swansea would have nothing to do with it - the Welsh league has only been around for about 20 years and didn't exist when Cardiff, Swansea, Wrexham etc were looking for a league to play in

it's not like they left their league to join another, so can't see what a court case could do for them

you can't make someone let you in their league if it's in a different country and you already play in one

well, I wouldn't have thought you can

I heard that about the Welshist teams the other year, they're allowed to stay put as when they were formed there wasn't a league in their own country, so they were allowed into our. If somebody like Cefn Druids or Barry Town now decided they wanted to join the English pyramid system, they wouldn't be allowed to,as they have to stay in their own league.

This is good news, as it means that Rangers can't use Swansea and Cardiff as an excuse to why they should be allowed into the English system.

As I've mentioned before, for them to gain admission then the English clubs would have to vote on it, and I don't see why they would want the likes of Rangers and Celtic into their nice little cosy closed shop.

The big question is who would those that support an English team and Rangers support in the same league? confusing situation?

...and those that do "support" Rangers, would they then decide they feel obliged to find another Scottish team to support?

That would be like Rangers fans taking their Union flags to Scotland games.

Or by Rangers fans supporting the Union by smashing up the one English City they've been allowed in in recent years.

I, for one, would welcome it.

When Bolton claim their place in the promised land again with the Auld Firm in situ, could you imagine a sesh around Glasgie?

And, potentially twice a season.

Would make Guimaraes seem like a Brownies picnic.

Going back to the Welsh clubs. Is that right about no others being allowed into the English Pyramid? Aren't Colwyn Bay or some over Taffs in our non-league, have they always been there?

Pah! No contest. BWFC first and always.

CWP - you don't really get it do you? Examine all of the connotations of the word 'loyal' and you might get closer.

I can see a european League being formed with the likes of manure/arse/Barca/Real/AC/Inter/Munich etc,and the PL being seperate for Teams like us Stoke/Everton/Spurs etc..Its all a bit too Corporate nowadays..

There was such a league in the mid 80s, never really took off though, the outcome of nearly every match was decided by penalties.

That's been touted for years now, along with the old firm coming to play down here

Don't think we're any closer

They'll just piss about with the CL and merge it with the Europa League or something

Everyone will stay in their own league

That's what gets on my tits about the whole thing.

Both sides should lighten the fuck up!

Amen brother.

You could be right. Not sure how you'd prove it though. Politics seems to add to the big one in Spain?

The Old Firm game appears to have great appeal with sellout crowds and screenings all over the globe.

Anyway, this is all getting off the subject. Neither will ever be invited to play in the English League nor should they be.

- government intervention to push it through allegedly and get them both in the Premier League.

Take it with a big pinch of salt, but if that happens, it will cause chaos and legal battles left, right and centre if others get relegated.

Not to mention the street battles every weekend. It will be chaos and cost the taxpayer a fucking fortune in police bills etc.

Absolute fantasy, They won't let it happen.

I've not read this thread

They should get back up in 3 seasons given their finance

Queen of the Sourh won league above sooner and are going for Scottish points record

Rangers my arse

No one will give a fuck if you can persuade the rest of your countrymen to vote for independence pal.

The 'Loyal' side of things will become an irrelevance for a start.

Let's get campaigning right now mate and make this happen.

"Vote SNP fae Scotland - you know it makes sense. Vote yes".

Will get campaigning when I sober up

They want independence, yet want to play in our league?
