no balls Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 (edited) Oh Jesus, the London White, we're better fans than you who live in the Bolton area card. I know it's grim up here but we don't need you, Madonna or a charity song to tell us how to live, ta. We're happy being Barbarians Edited June 8, 2013 by no balls Quote
davidjack Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 No. The guy who did does live in London, but I don't know him. But going off things he's written is clearly a proper fan. Quote
davidjack Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 I wish you wouldn't twist what I say. I told you I don't live in London anymore. I was responding to the 'folk in London can fuck off telling us what to do' dig...and pointing out that these are people whose commitment to BWFC should be beyond question. Not saying they're better than Bolton based fans, just that to dismiss their views because they live 200 miles away is ridiculous. Quote

"A proper fan"... Oh do fuck off. I hate it when folk consider themselves or others better than others just because they make it to games more. Edited June 8, 2013 by bwfcdan Quote
Guest Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Is a bookies better, worse or about the same as a payday loan company? Quote
no balls Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Well, I hope you haven't got a job in politics when you accuse others of twisting words. I saw a political agenda from the start and it pretty much confirms now that what I believed was right. Quote
davidjack Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 I mean an actual fan, not someone who saw a passing campaign bandwagon. Not implying you or anyone else isn't a "proper" fan. Lighten up! Quote
Estupendo Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 No. The guy who did does live in London, but I don't know him. But going off things he's written is clearly a proper fan. Quote
davidjack Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Apologies for unclear use of word "proper"...I meant bona fide ie he really is a fan not someone pretending to be for some other political motive. Didn't mean he's a better fan than anyone else. Clear? Quote
Estupendo Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 As someone who is pretty likely to know who this chap is, I don't. Never seen him in many years travel. Okay he might only drive? But I don't even remember him from European games so I was very dubious and he sounds like a twat. Interested to know where the London whites are better than u comes from. Those that follow the club are down to earth, serial alcoholics and quite Barmy. Quote
davidjack Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 That's my experience of knowing a good number of em for 20 years! Quote
no balls Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Interested to know where the London whites are better than u comes from. Those that follow the club are down to earth, serial alcoholics and quite Barmy. That was my fault I think and it was tongue in cheek. I know some of them and they're pisscans. Having said that they may also be hand wringers, I don't know as I would never discuss politics at the game. Quote
frankietheman Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 We're getting £16M in parachute payments next year. That's what matters financialy. Everything else is pissfroth. Yup. Quick Quid sponsorship deal worth less than £5k a week according to todays Times. Quote

Casino Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Yup. Quick Quid sponsorship deal worth less than £5k a week according to todays Times. so at what point does money become an irrelevance maybe that 200k keeps 8 staff in a job or half a dozen zac cloughs or powers the floodlights Quote
frankietheman Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 That £250K or whatever will be offset to a large degree by the Fibrlec deal and of course not to mention the disaffected who now decide they can ethically purchase a shirt with the new logo on it. Quote

Casino Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 reet so far as i know, theres nowt being put up by fibrlec and if, and it might be a big if. we make a tenner per shirt, NB might have an inkling, we'd have to sell a fcuk load of shirts - i wonder also if NB has any idea how many shirts we sell you need a lot of 10 quids to make up 250k i suppose booths coming back with new drums would make it reet Quote

davidjack Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Does 8 out of 9 count? It's still one of my all time regrets that I missed Besiktas. On the bright side, at least I missed Satan's cab experience... Quote

On the bright side, at least I missed Satan's cab experience... Probably just as well owd son! Cassie - "so at what point does money become an irrelevance" - fair point, but i's not as if there's umpteen money making scenarios at stake here. QQ, B&Q, Cuthbert Diddle or Grub I'm not fussed, but the fact is we'll not go under whoever it is or isn't. That's not to say we've got money to spunk, but as I said we'll not stand or fall on the basis of who's on our shirts at them prices. Back in the prem we got 3 times as much just for finishing one place higher. We must have had a turnover of summat like £0.5B during the 10 Prem years, but still fucked up. It's not a normal business. The best thing to do is to drink heavily. Quote
Carlos Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 This advert "Now I can buy my shirt and we can support our team with pride.”. WE! Who the fuck appointed this bellend as our collective spokesperson? I'd support us with pride if we were bottom of Div 4 and sponsored by Paedo Holidays to Thailand. What a shirt wearing cunt. Quote
