The Moaners

Right, let's fucking clear this up here shall we?

There are people who will go to the match and be moaning 10 minutes in, even if we're beating Barcelona 49-0 at that point.

The truth is, a small section of the fanbase pay their money to treat the matchday experience as a pressure valve to release a weeks worth of pent up anger that has formed in their personal lives.

I'm probably with the majority, in that I can often see things aren't ideal on the pitch, but I'm happy enough just leaving the moaning as something to discuss over a pint. The fact is that it's nothing more than a chance to mock millionaires who can be a bit shit at football.

What I don't understand, are the people who take their whining to an almost pathological level. In the stands, at work, on the forums - there they are, faces redder than my arsehole on a Sunday morning, spitting vitriol about these millionaires like it's the end of the fucking world. It's not, it's a game of football, lads.

So, my theory is that these people have very shit lives beyond the football. That's fine, be shit, have an overbearing wife, have a turgid job. But don't get upset when people on forums refuse to get so worked up that they are on the verge of a heart attack. Calm down - if you are such a hardcore supporter of the club, act like one. Support them. As you would say, you'll be there regardless so just accept that times will be hard and try and enjoy yourselves. Otherwise, you sound like complete fucking retards.

So what are you saying?

I'm saying that there's no need to get so worked up.

I sat near a guy at one point last season who was on his feet having a pop at someone within 5 minutes.

That's not right, that. Something broken there.

Last season we were 3-0 up against Hull in next to no time. Halfway through second half bloke next to me is shouting crap Freedman, awful this, absolute garbage etc. Had a go back at him and next thing were having a full blown row whilst beating a team 4-1 who were 3rd or something at time. WTF? Why bother going? He was having a go because we were being 'negative' and 'sitting on 3 goal lead!', obviously an Owen Coyle fan then who had learned nothing from the last few years or just a moaning git. Anyway I was with a mate from Hull at time and he couldn't believe it either, thought it was banter at first until the F words started flying. Funny afterwards but just shows you

Looks like an ideal 'ignore' list (+1 to avoid Everton team news) and suddenly the world is a better place

Can I register myself as an official moaner?

Add me to the list please

People moan about people moaning, football will always have differing opinions, I remember people not happy under Sam (the football style) loads under Megson, not many under Coyle but once it started going wrong there was loads,

It's way more than a game, otherwise people wouldn't care as much as they do.

Not everyone will be all positive all the time, nothing will change that, even if people get banned from forums or thrown out of stadiums for it, it'll still be there.

There's been a lot of stuff too 'moan' about since Sam left.

As Spider says, sone folk would moan even if we battered Barcelona, they just like to moan. They're usually depressive types with fuck all going on in their lives though and are best ignored

There's a lot of moaning done on here away from football also, like about the council, the government, the people they work with, things in general etc.

At least you was top of the list

Teachers

It's football, moaning is part of it

At least you was top of the list

I'll always be number 1 mate

Don't confuse my moaning with passion. I want the whites to win, but if they're being shit, I'll be vocal. More positive encouragement should be yelled from the terrace

Far from being a moaner, in fact fucking grateful to be from a town who has a football team, can't imagine not being :)

And you're a tedious cunt
