First one at 9 didn't turn up. 10.30 one rang at 10 saying he wasn't coming, reason why, too early & was still in bed. 12 noon has turned up, t-shirt and jeans. Asked him to fill out some forms and he doesn't know his address... Roll on Monday…

Should be more vocational stuff where they learn skills rather than shite they'll never use. Believe it or not we have a skill shortage and its going to get worse.

He will give them a go but a couple of days later the parents will be calling complaining that their kids have had to mop up sick in the toilet or collect some dirty glasses.

Maybe you were spoiled because you both had a work-ethic I'm only half-joking - if you show willing adults often approve and reward accordingly. I used to treat my nephew all the time when he was a kid - fucking good stuff as well, top drawer adidas trainers, tech, money - the lot (cue Generous Uncle Nobby's snake comments) anyhow, he's since developed into a bone-idle workshy little (well, big) sod, he's probably also wondered why the gifts and cash have dried up of late... Well, if you don't pull your weight (or give sexual favours - 'JOKE' btw) that's what happens, I gave him an opportunity to earn some honest cash of his own a few months back - he turned it down, never again.
September 6, 201312 yr Maybe you were spoiled because you both had a work-ethic . No, you are right. You show willing and parents appreciate that and reward accordingly. They worked hard so why would you take the piss out of your parents? That's down to mutual respect too.
