  • McNaughton has been very good in our last two away games.   I suspect some are calling him old and slow on account of the fact that he's got grey hair rather than the fact he's 31?

Was away this weekend so missed the match (sounds like a good decision), just read the whole thread and was looking for positives.

Same old crap at Blackpool ..........No

Same old crap at Birmingham........No

The plan at both games was to strengthen the defence, bring in some battlers, play on the break ( especially Feeney ) & it worked very nicely.

For the home game, whilst keeping the stronger defensive part, Dougie tried to add a bit more flair with Eagles for Pratley. It didn't work largely because Eagles had such a poor game, creating nothing going forward & exposing Baptiste in defence, & also because Feeney showed his limitations, & may only be useful in away games with more space to run into behind the full back.

At the moment, with so many of our creative players injured or out of any form, we may be better suited for the counter attacking tactics used at away games.

Unbeaten in 4 , & slow progress but it's still progress !!

"Unbeaten in 4 , & slow progress but it's still progress !!" - isn't this how we started our run last season, DFs first dozen games there was a lot of draws and narrow wins/defeats, then something clicked, 4 games undefeated - it as to start somewhere.

So we sack Himyarites

hire someone else

let him spend the next 12 months getting rid of our shit players and bringing his own players in

and if we haven't improved in 12 months, sack him as well?

are you spotting the problem yet?

12 months isn't long enough for anyone

even if I thought dougie was clueless (which i dont), its tough shit, we've made our bed, its time to lie in it.

I wish people would realise that 12 months clearly isn't long enough

And I agree with Garp, thesis goings to take time.

Carlos...casino and garp....

the freedman apologists

do any of you disagree that current home form has the potential to relegate us?

Absolutely. I make no apologies for anyone.

And I agree with Garp, this is going to take time.

I could understand that logic if this was his first season in charge. But given that he got this team playing the way he wanted last season, i don't really understand why it's now going 'to take time' for him to do it again. If he can't repeat it, maybe it was more accident than design last season.

12 months isn't long enough to completely change a squad/team around, the evidence is there to prove it.

If we sack dougie and bring someone else he, we then have a manager who will want rid of coyles and dougies players. he then gets 12 months before he's out?

we have to hit the very bottom until we can go forward again imo.

Gary megson must be laughing is balls off at this club and I don't blame him,all he did wrong was not interact with the fans in the way coyle and freedman have done with fans forums etc,the managers job here whoever is in charge is becoming so difficult by expectations from certain fans.

People need to think seriously because for me changing another manager could be a massive error and wolves or sheff utd are all you need to look at.

TonyCee, the most negative poster in WW's history?

thats him

Maybe so but if things don't improve this season, season ticket sales next season will be a serious cause for concern. He can't be given an unlimited amount of time.

no, i agree

there must only be three high earner's there at the most...and they aren't playing on a regular basis..his team..his players. .not playing for him...we have no hope currently of getting out of this division. ..what makes anyone think we could get out of the first...

I dread to think what will happen if we go down. Bristol City are bottom of League One with 6 points out of 33. Not that long ago they were one game away from the Premier League.

So we sack him

No manager in the game is given 12 months to get rid of 'shit players'. Not a one. It doesn't work like that

Good managers come in, make the players they've got perform better and overtime replace the 'shit players' with better. This fella is doing neither.

Our 'shit players' are shitter than ever and his signings aren't any better.

Gary megson must be laughing is balls off at this club and I don't blame him,all he did wrong was not interact with the fans in the way coyle and freedman have done with fans forums etc,

And, you know, leave us languishing in the bottom three, looking at relegation.

But, apart from that, nothing wrong. Nothing at all.

Anyway, I don't care about anyone else. I enjoyed Saturday. That's what football's all about.

More of that, please.

do any of you disagree that current home form has the potential to relegate us?

it won't be the home form that relegates us

it will be getting less points than 21 teams

a team could lose every home game and get in the play offs with 69 points

but yes, we need to start picking up points (the last 4 games have been play off form, mind)

i remain confident that the fella is as likely as anybody to do the job required

where we might disagree is what should be seen as success

As I've said before, the fact Owen Coyle managed to avoid relegation then Megson can't have left us in such as bad state.

And, you know, leave us languishing in the bottom three, looking at relegation.

its not like we were dead and buried under him he left December not like he got the chop April time when it would be to late

but we cant rely on picking points up away...

you rely on winning your home games especially against the yeovils of this world...

success this year would of been more consistency not even the play offs but building for perhaps a challenge next year...

Maybe so but if things don't improve this season, season ticket sales next season will be a serious cause for concern. He can't be given an unlimited amount of time.

if sales go down then so be it I can't see what a massive difference it would make tbh(yes I know we're in debt ) but nobody actually knows the full story of that.it goes back to my point about expectations apart from the odd good season how do these midtable plodder teams go on burnleys/boro /birmimgham your support levels off burnley 10-12k and guessing ours will be very similar

I dont think we can class drawing at home with 2 teams in the bottom three as play off form

They're not shit players.

they are good footballers with shit characters who are struggling to adapt to the championship after spending years playing in the prem.

they need a change of environment and club  to kick start their careers. We know it, they know it and Dougie knows it.

The problem is, we are paying them a fucking fortune and they don't want to move to kickstart their careers enough to want to take a huge drop in wages. (neither would I)

We're stuck until their contracts run down.

I never said they were shit players - I don't think that they are, which makes it all the more apparent that the manager is incapable of doing the job he's being paid for.

I dont think we can class drawing at home with 2 teams in the bottom three as play off form

we have a point and a half per game including an away game at the mighty blackpool

i know its all ifs buts n maybes, but if bogdan doesn't dive over the ball and our left back score a cracker in his own goal, beckford hits the inside of the post and it goes in...etc etc etc

fact is, we've tightened up at the back and it had to be done

lets see if he can improve the going forwards while not sacrificing the solidity

You'd probably say the same about Solbakken with Wolves then?

Exactly the same circumstances, although he came in 6 months earlier than Freedman did

he was incable of doing the job he was paid for with Wolves good players.

he was sacked and replace, as is being suggested we do.

Wolves went down as we know

Solbakken? last seen getting a draw with Juventus in the champions league less than a month ago.

Freedman has had a year. We're in a worse state than when he came. When do we draw the line in the sand?

The point will come, we all know that. It's just how long we leave it and how much shit we are in when we do it.
