Mentally they're opposites yes, no issue with that, but they're similar in that they both want the ball slid down the channels or fed in behind defenders on the deck, neither can head the ball or hold it up with any regularity, neither can physically bother their centre backs or get on the end of crosses. Beckford would score plenty if he was paired with someone who could hold the ball up and play him in. Ngog wouldn't score goals whoever he was paired with as he's just shite

I just think the back 4 look to have more confidence in him he does the basics better I'm not writing off bogdan but he needs a good spell out the side to regroup and fight for his place and get back in and stay in on merit he's been part of a woeful defence for what 3 maybe 4 seasons and a losing side why are knight mears ngog chungy mills wheater etc etc all labelled dead wood and need shifting bogdans played more than any of them

Fair enough, but if DF wants to play with wingers such as Feeney and (when he plays him) Hall, who get down the line and put crosses in, some will be in the air and invite someone to stick their head on them. They can't all be cutbacks to the penalty spot or balls slid in along the six yard line. Beckford will no doubt get on a few of those sort of balls and finish them but if we've nobody who wants to stick their head on one or two that come across in the air the wingers work is wasted. Apart from the aerial stuff, Beckford did play well today, considering the lack of service and support

If Freedman was allowed to sign players on the same wages as Coyle did would he have signed any of the ones he has? He's signed what the club can afford, that is it. It's the big wages of some very poor players what's strangling the coffers and slowing down what Dougie would like to get started I reckon. If we are better off now I don't know

No it's because we don't have a good no nonsense physical tough organizer at the back, someone with good positional sense who can read the game and break up attacks and set up our own. Not anything like Mills or Knight or Wheater (this season). Our defence sorely lacks a leader, well the whole team does but the way we crumble at the back under any sort of decent pressure is pathetic it really is and just keep sending the same team out and expecting a different result is just insanity. Also as someone else pointed out we are really going to miss Tierney as Baptiste is not a full back. That's another position worse than last season.
