October 26, 201312 yr thought this deserved its own thread after listening to the móngs on the radio post match where the fuck has this 'why did we buy the hotel for 20 million when we haven't got good players' come from the fact one of the texters was 'jason in horwich' probably told me all i needed to know why do folk read utter bullshit and take it as gospel
October 26, 201312 yr We are going down on purpose to go bust and come back. We have bought a hotel which was our anyway for 20 million. Chris eagles is a fagot with a gambling problem. Kia are buying the club tomorrow for £3. Gartside is stealing all the clubs money.

October 26, 201312 yr Stewy was never re-injured v villa He failed a drugs test for mkat and served his ban In secret. Injury for USA was real though. I got told today the club are that skint they switch the hand dryers off in fanzone.
October 26, 201312 yr Hotel was a joint venture with De Vere's who were looking to get shot as part of a large disposal of hotels from their portfolio. So board had the choice to buy or wait for a buyer. Alternative option was to have a closed hotel attached to the ground - can't see that being in anybody's interests. Can't see anything controversial in this but I'm sure conspiracy theorists will see an angle I have missed.
October 26, 201312 yr I thought the club owned the hotel (as in the physical structure) and bought out De'vere's contract to run the place in conjuction with Heathcotes Edited October 26, 201312 yr by frank_spencer
October 26, 201312 yr Don't know Frank, Tthe hotel business was a joint venture with De Vere's, but that's not to say the club didn't own the physical structure and rent it out to the joint venture co for tax purposes. Either way De Vere's wanted out and made many disposals around the same time - I don't think our board had much choice as I doubt potential buyers/partners were queuing up. Bit boring, but the truth as I see it. Edited October 26, 201312 yr by RoadRunnerFan
October 26, 201312 yr So ...did the board use funds that could of been made available to the manager?
October 26, 201312 yr Bobcat, It's up to ED what he spens his money on. I don't think having a mothballed hotel is in anyones interests. He's more chance of getting his cash back than sanctioning the hotel than more player wages to support the sports car dealers of Cheshire. In any case our budget isn't the problem - see Burnley and Blackpool.
October 26, 201312 yr Plus although I'm not certain... I'm pretty sure a breifcase hasn't been handed over with 20 million pounds in it.
October 26, 201312 yr Too true Gonzo I think that's just a number plucked out of the air by some GMR phone in crackpot.

October 27, 201312 yr Aren't the football side and the hotel two separate unconnected businesses? They just happen to be owned by the same person?
October 27, 201312 yr ED donates money to Manc Uni and has a library named after him or something. That could be spent on players too. Doesn't he also own horses?
October 27, 201312 yr I heard Eddie recently purchased 15 diamond encrusted tea cosies. Surely that cash should have gone towards persuading feeney to go AWOL on millwall
October 27, 201312 yr He's getting 3674678% APR on the money we owe him. That's why Quick Quid got involved as they fancied lending us £130m too.
October 27, 201312 yr What about his weekly milk and paper bills, surley he should cut these back and give the money he saves to Doogie

October 27, 201312 yr Why doesn't Eddie Davies get off his arse and get a little job at B&Q like other pensioners?

October 27, 201312 yr Turn the hotel into a skunk tomato plantation. Edit: Nearly let the cat out the bag then, loose lips an' all that. Edited October 27, 201312 yr by Youri McAnespie
