January 13, 201412 yr Right we owe a load of money to one man, he won't shut down as he is a fan and if he did he would/could lose all or part of his money. We need to reduce our costs as under FFP we have to, we were already running at loss so need quick deep cuts. Under FFP it is about annual losses rather than debts as such. All big businesses as a matter of course tend to run large debts rather pay loads in tax, it is about how you manage those debts. Our debts are interest free so do not cost us much if anything. With the parachute payments stopping we need to have extra income coming in. Hence moving more into the hotel side of things. So we are basically re structuring our debt to meet latest financial regulations, the debt is not the problem the losses are the problem, stop the losses and we are fine or reduce losses below threshold for FFP. So if that is the case and as I understand FFP you can not just have someone give you a load of money, I would like to know what else the good people of WWays want Eddie or Gartside to do ? The more you read this Eddie has bankrolled us in a way no one understood the fact he does not stand waving and wanting thanks or publicity should not cloud this. Given he funded SAMs success as therefore the whole European venture is incredible. Also with that much invested hard to think the desicions to let Sam go was just a stupid row between Sam and Gartside. I would trust the guy putting his cash on the table first and foremost.

We're currently 'adrift' eight league places shitter than the average in my lifetime - Eddie out, Darkside out, Dougie out, no ambition shit club. Get Sam back, sign Ribery and E'to - fuck FFP. Oh aye Gartslime, crowing about owning the Stadium, well fat use that is, it's sinking and sliding at an alarming rate - count the steps down from Middlebrook, there's eighteen additional ones been added since 1997, more than one a year. That shit steel we used (so they could pocket some backhanders as usual) is to blame no doubt. In all seriousness, in doing those mathematics, it really brought it home, fair play to everyone who was around (and actually aware of the situation - not just a kid like me) during those real dark and grim days back then in the 80s, they should mint some medals for distinguished service for each of you. January 13, 201412 yr What Youri said. I came into it in 1991/92. It was our fourth successive season in the third division (now League 1). Amongst other teams in the same division that year were Swansea, Stoke, Wigan, Fulham, West Brom, Reading and Hull City. Teams fortunes change over long periods of time unless you've got a LOT of money to throw at it, and even then there are no guarantees. Somebody on a Notts Forest forum the other day said 'Bolton are what Bolton are. Mainly a bunch of forgetable Premier League players who didn't prove good enough, and are now struggling to cope with the transition to the Championship'. That sums us up perfectly and it's going to take a while to sort out.

That might have been true at the start of last season but not this, not to mention the fact that Dougie has since signed a load of players who mainly played in the Championship.

But the benchmark shouldn't be the average position in your lifetime, otherwise we might as well just compare everything to the one season we spent in the Fourth Division and have done with it. We've spent most of our history in the top flight.
