My girlfriend has just entered the front room and proclaimed.....

 

'The dog is having a Benny'.

 

I've not heard that turn of phrase for years and I am now determined to begin using it again.

I'm trying my best with "Chinny reckon" ...and the rubbing of the chin to go with the words...

We didn't use chinny reckon. Instead we used to push out tongue into our bottom lip and say 'bemph'.

 

If somebody said something really implausible then it was a 'mega Bemph'.
