Shaking/fit When Just About To Fall Asleep

This happened for the first time about two weeks ago.

All day on the piss Saturday at Leeds away.

Sunday up early and went work.

Went to bed usual time Sunday night feeling tired. Just as I was at the point of falling asleep my body went into some kind of fit and I started shaking like fuck and had to kind of pull myself out of it. Happend all through the night, everytime I got to the point of falling asleep It would happen again. Finally got to sleep about 5am without it happening.

Went out on Friday for the big Cheltenham piss up with work. Was expecting the same Saturday night but fell asleep no problem. Sunday night it was back again though. This was even worse. Got in bed and 10 minutes later just as im about to fall asleep my whole body locks up and starts shaking like some kind of fit, only this time with my eyes open a picture of a face was in front of me (think it was my old man) and it was scary as fuck. It happened again last night on a smaller scale, so effectively 3 nights after the beer.

I'm not completely stupid and know I need to cut down the drink but has anyone else experienced this and any advice?

Functioning alcoholic signing in.

See, I'm mainly a binge drinker these days so won't have a drop till Friday tea time. I try not to sup at home as I'd be worried I'd get too used to it.

Then again, I swear by Nightnurse if I'm struggling to sleep & my Stepfather (retired doctor) says it reet, but what does he know.

I'm a quack medical practitioner and I concur with your stepfather. :)

You'd hate it, though I do have a couple of DIY jobs need doing so I might think about it.

What are we talking? I'm probably a 7/10 when it comes to DIY. 9/10 if you go out for a few hours and let me get on with it...

A chandelier in my bedroom & wall paper in the bathroom.

There's a bottle of Cono Sur Pinot Noir needs supping after.

You might be weird but you're less creepy than that presenter on DIY SOS

Never watched DIY SOS, but I'll take that as a compliment. PM me your address and we'll sort something out.

I've knocked drinking in the head through the week, used to think nowt of supping a few cans of an evening, easily supping 4 at least, before I got wed I would be Down the cricket club every night supping 5-6 pints a night getting home at 1 up at 6 then repeat then it would be the weekend and on it again all day sat at the footy then clubbing then take the edge off on Sundays with a few watching the footy or just down the pub cos it was Sunday, I was in a right state shakes their sleep was awful, now I sup loads of water, thrown myself into doing loads of projects doing courses in my spare time making sure in walking the dog at 7am on a weekend morning all to keep me off the sauce, drinking is fine but it can be very very very bad,

I'm sure many will agree as soon as you get past the point of the idea of not drinking is a bad idea it's great, and the get a hobby advice is great,

Good luck Garpo

the thought of cracking open a bottle at 6 on a friday gets me through the week

will pass this week

I never drink during the week, only on Fridays and Saturdays. Recently I've been having a Sunday drink, but that's only because I've not been getting up on a Monday. No way can I do a Sunday drink if I'm working on Monday, no way.

I've got a mate who drinks everyday, on a quiet one he might have 6 pints of Stella, normally he'll be on around 10 pints midweek though and he drinks even more on Saturdays.

There a few blokes that go in the golden eagle that clear 8-10 a night easy.

In particular there's a bloke called foxy. He works for Pilley the Fleetwood chairman and never missed a game home or away. He apparently is shit hot at his job and never has a day off.

He drinks 4 pints on his dinner, nips and has a flyer on his 20 minute break in the afternoon then is straight in the eagle at tea time till closing.

Menkul

My mate who I mentioned above, reckons he does around £250/£300 every week in the pub. Not only could my liver not handle it, but neither could my bank balance. Still, he's got next to fuck all out goings compared to me I suppose.

How many cans?

Did you wear your shirt?

You work in London?

One of the things that happened when I worked centrally is that there is always someone on a night of the week who you can go for a beer with (less so Fridays) but what happens is if you carry on at the weekend, when most Londoners don't drink that much at the weekend it seems.

I was in town on a Thursday last week for the first time in ages and I'd forgotten about the amount of leathered folk in suits on the tube on a Thursday. Two blokes fell up a tube escalator, one bloke just corkscrewing eating a burger in Kings Cross.

Just try and limit it to one day a week; you'll probably cut down to much less anyway - or try and not be the last man standing.

This

I work 300 meters tops from the tube and I pass three pubs along the way. A lot of the time it's a mixture of office workers and tourists but it's really difficult to keep out, especially in summer time when everyone is spilling out on to the street enjoying the sunshine.

I rarely drink at the beginning of the week but by Thursday I quite fancy a pint... not quite sure if that's a bad thing though! After that it's pretty boozy all the way through to Saturday night. Not good!

Don't even think of asking me to go for a pint on Friday.

Sitting through that shit is more commendable than resisting going to the pub.

I've a mate who's in the habit of doing 4-8 cans a night, goes to bed late, struggles to sleep and is up at half 5/6. That alone is bad enough IMO but he then counters it by doing coffee/red bull/pro plus throughout the day to keep him going. Constantly up and down.
