In the top 5 and he'd get in any team as he's the best player in the world, okay CR7 has had a better last season, but Messi still had a good season with him missing a lot of it also. 

 

Messi came within inches of scoring last night, wouldn't say he bottled it, just missed a chance, certainly had a better WC than CR7, WC don#'t determine your football status imo, Messi as proved what he is, you only need to look at his stats.

Ronaldo was half fit and playing alongside shite like helder postiga.

The greats would have done something with that free kick in the last minute or at least not balloon it miles over the bar.

Messi was said to look like carrying a slight injury too and Messi has been the best player for years until this year and if both are fit then Messi it is. 

 

Messi missed that freekick, it was far out and Neure in goal, he scored almost from there v Nigeria, CR7 misses plenty of freekicks as does Messi, Gerrard had a late freekick in a game for England and put it over, it happens, he had to put power on it and put it right in the corner, I'd say any player would struggle to score more than a few times out of 100 with a goalkeeper to beat also from there.

I agree you can't judge on one isolated moment like a free kick but I did find it pretty funny. Without question the pressure got to him and he bottled it.

 

The other thing is after 2006 world world cup it was said he couldn't be judged on one world cup

 

the same was said in 2010

 

surely after three world cups he can be judged?
