July 18, 201412 yr At the age of 31 I broke a finger playing rugby and couldn't shave for a fortnight. I grew a beard out of necessity, and found people fell into 3 categories. A - those who didn't notice at all; B - those who knew something was different, but weren't sure what; and C - those who no longer recognised me. I wasn't bothered about the Cs, so I kept it for 15 years, but cleanshaven for the last 20 years. PS I rather favoured PS.
July 18, 201412 yr Well, this is the longest I've ever had it; and it is in the hipster 'zone' but I haven't got the short hair side parting to go with it and i wear socks with my shoes, and I've only been to shoreditch twice. One of my good mates has had a long beard for about 10 years - he's really fucked off with this trend; I don't think I'd ever go back to being clean shaven.
