July 27, 201412 yr Anyone into this tent lark? Apart from getting the thing erect. What should i be looking for/asking when a potential purchase is immanent. Saw one at Decathlon for £399. Looked the business but could be a bag of shite if you know what you are looking for.
July 27, 201412 yr They have a guarantee type thing do Decathalon, I think you can take them back if you're not satisfied... A fri...an acquaintance of mine was talking about buying one for a jaunt around the Balkans, then taking it back for a refund when he's done, saying it's shite and it leaks. He makes me look like Charlie Potatoes. . Edited July 27, 201412 yr by Youri McAnespie
July 27, 201412 yr Anyone camping in the UK wants their head feeling - the ground is never properly dry here, you wake up with that wet grass smell every morning, feeling scummy as fuck...
July 27, 201412 yr Author 400 quid for a fucking tent, are you mad!? How many people do you need it for? 400 quid for a fucking tent, are you mad!? How many people do you need it for? We're swingers. But yes, 400 quid is a lot.
July 27, 201412 yr Going to Birkenhead watching Athy Colls, next week, see what the pikeys are charging for a tent, and will let you know in due course.
July 28, 201412 yr Leave it until later in the year for a bargain. Now is the winter of our discount tents.
July 28, 201412 yr £400 is pretty extravagant. We got a 6 man tent off Black's (sickened) for about £160 and it's served us really well. Another £30 for a groundsheet that has the same footprint as the tent and you're laughing. You can spend the other £210 on pear cider!
July 28, 201412 yr This one is a good deal providing you don't mind a tent named after a group of Islamic fundamentalists? http://m.blacks.co.uk/equipment/070255-vango-isis-500-5-man-tent-mid-green.html
July 28, 201412 yr I've got Coleman Waterfal , it is a cracking tent seperate sitting area and two curtained off bed room / spaces easy big enough for a trip away, room for table and chairs inside and a porch flap either side of it two mins to put up colour coded poles beltin ! Castlecroft caravan and camping is your place in Radcliffe passed the car auction left at the railway bridge 200 yards on the left
July 28, 201412 yr Get yourself to Go Outdoors. Most of Decathlons tent have separate groundsheets. You want an all in one job, less pissing about putting up and taking down.
July 28, 201412 yr That Icarus 500 on the link Burnden supplied is a belting tent. It's got 2 seperate bedrooms and a living room/porch type thing at the front. Plus it's big enough for me to stand up in and I'm 6 foot. Plus I can vouch from experience that it's good in the rain. Has a built in groundsheet but I'd still by the extra one to protect the bottom of your tent. HH rating is 10,000 btw! Edited July 28, 201412 yr by kent_white
July 28, 201412 yr Best place round here is outdoor world on winwick lane warrington. For normal use (eg weekend away in the lakes and not taking up Everest) you can pick up something decent for less than £200.
