July 29, 201412 yr Nathan Wolfe, now at Stockport. Had a year in Spain at the Glenn Hoddle Academy after he'd been released by us and Rochdale. [/Malcolm mode] Eye him, everyone were banging on about how good he was, and he would play for england etc. Rochdale makes sense, lad on our teams dad owns them. Just shows the actual difference between then n us. Cleverley is a funny one, he is clearly talented, and if he was at Bolton most this site would be banging the "clev for england" drum.
July 29, 201412 yr Author I bet that ended well haha Haha as I was knocking fuck out of him one of his team mates was ballooning that he was a bouncer then booted me in the ribs, I looked at him and said your next then brixton laid into him. Like many players before him he's had his shot at the top table and is destined for midtable mediocrity with Everton, West Ham etc.

July 29, 201412 yr There were quite a few lads in my age group in the Boy's Fed got signed on schoolboy and YTS for various clubs but only one actually played first team football. Of all the players he'd have been the last you'd have expected. He was a big lump of a centre forward who had a season playing right back for Rochdale when he was 16. None of the rest made it and you'd have bet your house on some of them, one in particular who was on City's books.
July 29, 201412 yr most don't have a clue what a good or bad player is. our school were best in our area, had a few who played for Munichs and City had this guy who couldn't get in the B side quiet lad he was streets ahead of the rest of them kept telling teacher who wasn't having it and he never got a game in 5 years. ended up playing semi pro, rest did fuck all my eye for a player started at a young age
July 29, 201412 yr my eye for a player started at a young age is that when you decided that Higuain was better than Messi
July 29, 201412 yr my eye for a player started at a young age Aye, I remember you creaming yourself when we signed Keith Andrews.
July 29, 201412 yr Aye, I remember you creaming yourself when we signed Keith Andrews. Brighton fans were more than happy with his performance last season. and every other championship club he played for. as im sure the Watford fans will be this season. difference is I know that a player not working out at a club doesn't mean he's shit. You keep commenting on our signings though whilst admitting you don't watch any other football

You keep commenting on our signings though whilst admitting you don't watch any other football To be fair numerous BHA fans took to twitter to laugh at Watford taking him from what i saw Doesn't mean they're right as I think he could do a job for us and would be better than Medo, but just reporting what I saw

To be honest like you, I was pleased when we signed Andrews. Looks like another player mis managed by Douglas.

July 29, 201412 yr A few of my Blackburn "mates" were laughing when we signed him. Not sure if they were season ticket holders though.
July 29, 201412 yr Some ex pros look after themselves others don't. Last weekend played against a Reading Vets team including a couple from the play off final. They did us 2-0 but I was youngest at nearly 50 along with a few mates from the pub. Neil Webb just stood there watching. Revenge was a photo with two of them and check out the fingers! - look left! Guess who? Edited July 29, 201412 yr by Thorpey

July 30, 201412 yr Haha good effort thorpey! Not on it myself but bro put pic on Facebook and I'm getting loads of grief for taking the piss out of Reading leg ends! Fair play to both Mickey Gooding and Adie Williams for being good lads although AW did call me a f'in c*** for catching him down the achilles!
September 3, 201411 yr I'm on this picture somewhere aged 15, You'll also notice a famous footballer aged 14. He didn't need any luck back then, he had it from the start natural ability & just liked playing football. Also used to go to our Youth club & nick all the tasty birds on a Friday night then still rip the oposition to bits on a Saturday morning Is that Harry Hackett the manager stood next to him?
September 5, 201411 yr At 9-14 a player with average athletic shape willing to work hard on improving technique in the right environment will become a 'good' player'. Usually great in unopposed situations. The ones who progress 14-18 have to show desire, commitment and make good decisions quickly in opposed situations. E.g I see too many players making the same poor decision in 20 yards of space and 2yards of space. At 18-21 it's about INTENT..... Maximum effort Control of emotion Clarity of mind. Combine intent with what you have been given from 9-18 and you won't be far off earning some sort of living in the game.

MR Walsh - he used to play semi pro, brother was Mickey Walsh who played for Porto amongst others. When we were at school he was a scout for Chelsea in his spare time, worked his way up to doing match reports on opposition for AVB when JM was in charged. Ended up quitting teaching and going full time & he is now assistant manager at Leicester. Crazy really but great guy and good teacher to boot!!

From LCFC website: "However Walsh was lured from his position at Chelsea by then-Newcastle United manager Sam Allardyce, where he linked up with Pearson, who had joined as assistant boss in 2006."
September 5, 201411 yr Coached a lad aged 6 who looked better than anything I'd ever seen, even scored an overhead kick direct from a corner. Nialls at Liverpool now pulling up trees but you just never know. Know a coach who picked Giggs as a lad in Denton Boys B team, like I said you just never know.
