September 10, 201411 yr Tranmere. It was my cup final as a kid. Don't think I saw us win there mind. That day we filled the whole end behind the goal and Alridge flicked the V's right infront of us and nearly caused world war 3. Think Pat Nevin scored a pen. Proper derby. Might be back on soon enough.

September 10, 201411 yr Was that the draw where Tranmere celebrated like they had won the FA cup final because they stopped us getting 100 points? No but it was very similar haha Remember going in our first season back in division 1. We played in red and blue and had half the terrace behind the goal. Think Phil Brown scored. Season after they had build that stand and we had all of it and that's when Aldridge flicked the V's. my dads mate Paul Horrocks ran on the pitch to have a go at him and got lifted.
September 10, 201411 yr Tranmere in the FA Cup in 83 (or84) was tasty before the match and in the seats in the first half, especially when we scored first Edited September 10, 201411 yr by C86
September 10, 201411 yr I miss the old stadiums and the ones that have been redeveloped in no particular order, Leeds Road, the Valley, the Den, highfield road, Eastville, Ayresome park, roker park, baseball ground, Victoria ground, don't like most of the swanky new stadiums they've no character.
September 10, 201411 yr Doncaster was always a good day out, used to get off the station before Doncaster and go in pub in the middle of nowhere with two snooker tables. Rotherham was another good day out.
September 10, 201411 yr Tranmere in the FA Cup in 83 (or84) was tasty before the match and in the seats in the first half, especially when we scored first I remember that very well indeed. I remember that very well indeed! Bolton in their seats I seem to remember, and chaos ensued! I think it was my first game back after me and an ex WWs poster had just returned from a weekend of fun and games watching England in Luxembourg. Happy and carefree days!!!

September 10, 201411 yr Was that Tranmere game when Frankie Worthy was either their player/manager or in some way involved? Finished a draw and got them back to Burnden?
September 10, 201411 yr I miss playing Munich we never seem to draw them in the domestic cups. And they've never beaten us! Edited September 10, 201411 yr by boltondiver
September 10, 201411 yr I miss getting up early to drive to Southend on Boxing Day. I really do. Honest. Was only thinking the other day about our trips to Grimsby. Had some goods days out there.
September 10, 201411 yr Cockneys v everybody else? plus a bit of looting? We got the Luxembourg flag from the match! Yep, the journey back to England was a bit moody with dark rumours abounding............ Ace it was!!
September 10, 201411 yr rotherham was a cracker in the mid 80s am i remembering right that they still had the carriages with separate compartments and a corridor running down the length?
September 10, 201411 yr I miss standing on Terraces more than anything. You cannot beat a load of pissed up idiots singing and shouting crammed in, Macclesfield Away was superb.
September 10, 201411 yr Grimsby. Always a good following, a great licensed chippy just outside the ground, good away pub "The Leaking Boot" and post-match bears and an indian in Cleethorpes. Happy days!
