Dealing With Bullies

Featured Replies

My lad was getting bullied by four lads from the year up at High School over here. Main shithouse's mother worked at the school in the library and thought he was untouchable. The bully and his 3 mates ambushed my lad right behind our house where the pathway from school crossed a small stream. Jumped on his back after hiding behind a bush but, generating some pride in his father, my son got the upper hand and dragged the bully into the stream belting fuck out of him. Left him a bloodied mess lay in the stream. The other three stood by according to other kids from our street who happened along and witnessed some of it. Must have thought 'fuck off, I'm  not going in. He's a (Bolton) nutter'.

Predictably, I was summoned by the head teacher a day later. The twat gave me a lecture right before I gave him a piece of my mind. He knew nothing of the circumstances - only that the librarians son had had his head kicked in by my lad. He didn't know his arse from his elbow by the time I'd finished with him and the proposed one week suspension for my lad became one day suspension for both of them.

This feud went on for a while culminating in about a hundred kids waiting for my lad in a park close by some months later. Our daughter flagged it to us and the missus locked my lad in the house. I came out of work, put the steel toe caps on and went round there. The faces were a picture. I must have been nearly purple with rage by the time I got there and stormed up to them with a "Right then, which one of you little cunts wants a piece of my son?' Librarians sons older brother (mid-20's) stepped forward and stood nose to nose. That was the last thing he remembered for a few minutes. The rest scattered and I was expecting the long arm of the law to be knocking on the door very shortly but it never happened. 18 years on when the bully and my lad cross paths they are like old mates! To use an Americanism 'Go figure!'.

Moral of the story - the only way to deal with bullying is to meet it head on (pardon the pun),

No. No it's not. Not at all. What if your son had never been locked in the house and had been in the park. What if he had been battered or hospitalised or worse. He was lucky. Very lucky

18 years ago though bolty..

Kids now don't take being beaten at their own game very well.. if that happened now you'd probably end up getting stabbed..

that's the harsh reality of the modern world and why schools need to nip it in the bud before it gets to that stage..

Hate bullying me.

Had it all the way through secondary school, easy target as my dad died when I had just started.

1st day back after he had died during xmas hols, some dickhead made some comment and he ended up have a chair wrapped round his head, luckily the head of year was great and gave me full support and he got bollcked.

Had a few more ding dongs with this lad, then later on in school he started selling lifleline tickets for the club and got a free ticket and offered it me. I think he new I wouldn't take any shite.

The worst ones though were the ones who had half a dozen mates backing them up, cunts of the highest order.

Problem was I tried to tough it out, which as a vunerable teenager was hard to do, some people would stick up for you and the rest just egged the others on.

Anyway one of the local nutters who I was friendly with found out and went and fronted up to the biggest and I never had anymore mither.

Hard one, don't envy you at all.

Very old fasioned way that Bolty, its just not realistic these days.

In the situation you described, you are lucky you didint get attacked yourself, by the whole mob.

I was expecting Bolty's story to head in the direction of Wolf Creek where the bully was strung up in some old tin shack in the outback - Bolty extracting his toe-nails each and every day!

No disrespect but that's just not true IMO. We're a nation living in fear.

Violent crime and especially murder per capita are lower now than in years gone by.

Late 90s/early 00s was a high point for crime iirc.

If times have changed, they've changed for the better. Yet people are far more afraid now. Maybe that fear translates to less people fighting, I don't know.

Get the school involved asap. If they have owt about them, and the bullies parents are not feral arseholes, it'll get nipped in the bud.

Our lass' girl was getting bullied at school, but when a bit if digging was done it was a case of kids almost taking it in terms to be the one getting it. A few did take it too far and the school stepped in. Seems to have calmed down now.

Really difficult subject to get the true story so although getting involved yourself might be needed, get the full story first.

Is the kid in question one that has just started 'big school' as sometimes being the younger kids can be a problem.

You need to get talking to the head of year, find out what's happening.

Do not take the violence approach what ever you do.

If he 'needs to get his daddy to look after him' he'll always be a victim.

At the end of the day bullies are pitiful dicks who need to make others feel bad to get any enjoyment in life.

If it's 'just' verbal bullying getting your lad to understand this will go a good way to helping him out.

If it's beyond that then the school really need to be stepping in.

Started a new school in the third year, was walking into the changing rooms for games, first games at new school,a big lad kicked my cricket bat .words were exchanged and he followed me to my peg and punched me in the face, this lad boxed for bolton lads and was handy ,anyway there was an altercation and basically I beat the shit out of him, no one tried anything after that... Better to live an hour a freeman that a life time being scared ....

Good job he's not a girl. They can teach boys a thing or two about bullying.

I fucking hate bullies, spineless cunts who prey on the weak to make themselves feel important. I was lucky as I didn't get too much hassle when I was at school but being a small skinny git I was an obvious target. Not much point in lamping the bully if he laughs at your effort and kicks the shit out of you.

Jay, get him playing rugby...honest...he will get that self confidence to either laugh it off or twat them.

You may have answered your own question, sir.

In my experience, anything that results in them being more frightened of you than you are of them is the right conclusion.
