  • If I thought he could get us back on track and challenging in this league again, I'd have Bin fucking Laden.   Getting precious about some fucking small time sectarian bullshit is a luxury we cannot

  • It's only seen as divisive by people who want to see it that way. What the fuck has he done wrong? Apart from stand up to the most vicious sectarian campaign of intimidation by people 'loyal' to somet

Whilst I don't want a happy clapper who feels the need to be loved by the supporters, I don't want someone who will be hated by a large chunk of fans straight from the off ... and for that reason I wouldn't want Lennon.

She does. I find him a divisive figure. In all seriousness, I think he will be bad for the club, especially at a time we all need to be unified.

that says more about our fans than it does about lennon

i guarantee any religious stuff would not come from lennon

and we've already got a green shirt

I think that's just the mod title that does it. He does come across like that on here but has always been alright when I have met him... Although I try not to stay in his company for too long to be fair

Incidentally, re Lennon, has he ever actually stirred up any sectarian shit? I can only ever remember hearing/reading about him being on the receiving end of it.

i want whoever is the best manager

fwiw, i doubt theres a fag paper between the main candidates

just on personality i think id have mackay

Lennon is a cock but if he gets the job & does it well then he's our cock! Same as Dioufy, horrible human being but if he's winning games for us then you learn to live with it

Why is this always about religion? Just accept it isn't always. And FWIW, Mackay is my choice too & I have no idea if he has a God or bible

another catholic etc?

I don't see how we know there's a large chunk of fans against him already. There are already a good few on here up for the idea. And plenty of people I've spoken to have him in their top two or three. The Rangers shirt wearers (even at a Wanderers game - just what is that about, btw?) are not representative of anything but themselves...I reckon if you did a straw poll of Wanderers fans you'd get as many with Celtic leanings as Rangers leanings...and a far bigger number who didn't have a leaning either way. I seem to remember a poll along those lines years ago in one of the fanzines.

I think there's loads couldn't give a fuck about either.

oh, come on

the vast majority of folk opposed to lennon would be opposed cos of his celtic links

if he was a massive cnt and ex rangers there'd not be the same animosity

and you know that, regardless of your reasons for disliking him

another catholic etc?

hahaha

hush

regardless of your reasons for disliking him

Secret crush?

Souness, case in point?

i want whoever is the best manager

Me too.

I just fear that it was Lennon, there'd be plenty who wouldn't give him a chance and it would only take a couple of bad results for the cock-ends to turn the atmosphere poisonous again.

Souness, case in point?

tbf to nb, i think shed have lennon over souness

Secret crush?

I think he might have.

Souness, case in point?

Souness said some mean things about us, I thought that's why we disliked him so much?

Me too.

aye, i know

i just hate to think not appointing him would be giving in

seeing as i dont think there'll be much between them, id agree we'd be better without him but its utter bollocks that the tail is wagging the dog

i dont think davidjack would mind if garty got wind of some bad feeling towards lennon and listened to the fans and ruled him out

well, im fooked if i know whats going on

carry on

Same as usual then xxx

True dat.

mackay is still my number one choice

Except I don't think he would be listening to the fans in any meaningful sense - but rather to a few with some ill defined grievances (which, as you say, are of a sectarian nature in most of those cases). On the other hand, the noise of the Gartside out chants at the last two home games - plus a good three or four hundred comments in BN in past few days - I'd say are indicative of a real strength of feeling against him (even if it's not shared by everyone on here).
