Except I don't think he would be listening to the fans in any meaningful sense - but rather to a few with some ill defined grievances (which, as you say, are of a sectarian nature in most of those cases). On the other hand, the noise of the Gartside out chants at the last two home games - plus a good three or four hundred comments in BN in past few days - I'd say are indicative of a real strength of feeling against him (even if it's not shared by everyone on here).

  • If I thought he could get us back on track and challenging in this league again, I'd have Bin fucking Laden.   Getting precious about some fucking small time sectarian bullshit is a luxury we cannot

  • It's only seen as divisive by people who want to see it that way. What the fuck has he done wrong? Apart from stand up to the most vicious sectarian campaign of intimidation by people 'loyal' to somet

what if there were 2000 people who didnt want him

for whatever reason

should he listen then

Lennon or Mackay'tny for me don't mind

Thankfully, I really don't think that's the case. I give our fans more credit than that. We're BWFC, not Glasgow Rangers.

Whoever gets appointed, there's unlikely to be unity - when Freedman got potted on Friday, that should've been the end of it, but no, there'll be harkings back to Freedman now, to go with the Fat Sam yearnings and derision, the Coyle bile and apologists, The Megson history rewrites and reappraisals and still burning hate and so on...

Rightly or wrongly, I see Hughton as being a soft-touch and similar to Dougie tactically, Mackay has a cloud over him - we don't know what could happen with that, Clarke? For the money he's had, well, meh...Mowbray, a bit less meh, but meh still.

'tis Lennon all the way for me.

see, you cant have it all ways

maybe they dont want him cos hes ginger

maybe its becuase he head butted shearers boot

it doesn't matter why

if a significant minority dont want him, should the owner and chairman be influenced

The posties of Bolton will veto it, or strike for danger money.

mackay is still my number one choice

On what basis ? He was bank rolled at Cardiff, and did fook all at Watford. Can't see him doing much with our transfer budget, and theres also the issue that a lot of players wont want to play for him after the text message scandal.

Clearly, if a majority didn't want a new manager before he'd even started his position wouldn't be very tenable. Megson never really recovered from the underwhelming reaction to his appointment. If that majority really existed - and it was made up mainly of people who hate Irish people/Catholics/Celtic - then it wouldn't be the club I've supported all my life.

Lennon for me is the closest we can get character wise to a Pulis or Allardyce. He's a bit nowty and a 'everyone hates us but we don't care' type.

That can go either way, but I'd take the risk. Possibly we need someone like him to shake it up a bit rather than a Hughton to be steady. I don't know. I'm not sure tactics is the issue, I think it is some man management and motivation that gets us out of it.

More I think about it more Lennon although a risk, might be worth a shot.

He won't get it though, I think like Mackay it will be too big a risk for the club with a safer Clarke or Hughton in the running.

I just don't see Lennon wanting to take over. He'll see himself above the financial mess and current status of the club. Mackay would be inviting a media shit storm due to them texts. I'd personally want Steve Clarke. Or Brian McDermott as we all know where Reading were at this time a few years ago....

Pulis

Mowbray

Hughton

Robinson

MacKay

Brown

In that order.

If we were in a good position I'd love Karl Robinson in but we need experience to get us out of this. Still prefer him to other candidates though.

Well yeah Pulis is my ideal but ive wrote him off as not feasible.

Pulis isn't happening in a million years. Might as well add Guardiola to the top of the list.

All this Lennon is a cunt thing

How many cunts have we had play for us, diouf for example, I bet you all chanted the diouf will spit on you song. What he did was disgusting and you all backed him

When Lennon is on the touchline with his bwfc tracksuit on he'll be our cunt that everyone loves to hate

Get a grip

Lennon in

Failing that, I'd have king kennny, rafa or Roy Evans

What about Houllier, Rysn?

None of us know what these blokes are like as people, I don't why folk pretend they do.

I want a bloke who can do the job. That's the only criteria for me.

What about Houllier, Rysn?

Hes got a dodgy ticker, we'd have another muamba on our hands when the going gets tough and the boo boys start

Hughton clear favourite with the bookies for now, hmmm

The whole point is that they were cunts whilst doing something good for us

So they became "our cunts"

At the moment, Lennon is just a cunt (if that is your persuasion), and until he's "our cunt" it will stay that way

Otherwise you may as well say you can't call anyone a cunt in case at some point they become our cunt

Which is a ridiculous position

If Lennon came and did a great job and was still "just a cunt" you may have a point

But until then you don't

You daft cunt :)

Appointing Lennon would be a mistake. Just like when Megson came there will be a chunk of supporters who will be on his back from day one, and they won't get off. And lets be honest, Lennon is too good for Bolton. It's getting to that time of the year were Premier managers are going to get the sack.

Hughton & Clarke have been interviewed yesterday according to Nixon. Mackay and Lennon still to be done...

Hughton.. Really?!

Apart from an expensive promotion squad at Newcastle, what has the man achieved?

How many of those players did he bring in? It was like driving a bloody train.

For me it's between Lennon and Mackay.

Preference being Mackay. He's an injured animal with a point to prove.

I'd love it if we got Lennon. He's just the type of cunt we are in need of at the moment, a cunts cunt and a class manager. Him or Clarke for me, ta.

Just no wazzock off the sunshine bus please.

Lennon would be a good manager for us but I don't see him coming to Bolton yet.

Clarke's background Chelsea , West Ham and Liverpool coach suggest he has more about him than his history at West Brom suggests.
