Interesting remark from Charlie Nicholas (I don't know if he was sitting there when he thought this):

"Charlie Nicholas, a former Celtic and Arsenal striker and now a TV pundit, said even if Lennon ended up at a club in the English Championship – the second tier – it might renew an appetite for the game that has waned in Scotland."

Article also mentions that one of the reasons it is thought that Lennon left is that he was fed up working with tight financial restrictions.

  • If I thought he could get us back on track and challenging in this league again, I'd have Bin fucking Laden.   Getting precious about some fucking small time sectarian bullshit is a luxury we cannot

  • It's only seen as divisive by people who want to see it that way. What the fuck has he done wrong? Apart from stand up to the most vicious sectarian campaign of intimidation by people 'loyal' to somet

he's not wired up reet

ignore him

here we go the most blinkered/clueless one has spoken

Paul Ince spotted coming out of Lucianos at Middlebrook first thing this morning with Uncle Phil.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

not sure what would be so bad about brown getting the job, he has experience of taking hull up and keeping them in the premiership for the first season, he is no less qualified than any of the other applicants. Just because he has history with us should not mean we should be ruling him out, when you actually look at his record in management he is not that bad a candidate.

No that was his pool boy.

No that was his pool boy.

Luciano's has a pool table?

Paul Inces recent appearance on The Chase was almost as funny as the gif that someone will post

Mr and Mrs?

He will do that wave when we announce him as manager.

He'd work well with Richard Sneekes.

Would send out message of accepting averageness to me. Get one of the other mentioned names in I feel would lift the atmosphere more. I know we are a long way off Top six but it'd send message we do want to get back there. Hill, unlike allardyce, has had a go in this league. If I went to that league it would be a Robinson I'd go for. But not the time as others have said

Hill kept a shit Barnsley side up in his first season, he struggled the year after having sold vaz te and having a lot of injuries to first team players.

You can't knock what he's done at Rochdale, twice. He's not afraid of dishing out a bollocking either.

It'll be Phil Brown, I reckon, whether we like it or not.

The penultimate word in that quote in the Guardian is the key word.

“There is always going to be speculation about myself and Bolton, whenever the job comes up. I had 15-odd years there as a player and coach. We had some great times under Sam Allardyce. I’ve had no contact with Bolton Wanderers officially, though.”

I'd be happy with brown, got him at 33/1.

Bring an unknown foreigner in, or nick Riga from Blackpool.

Related to Smiffs?

It's nice to receive a small token of recognition for your efforts/achievements, but that trophy is more of an advert for npower than it is an award.

Favors a tramp.

Carlos reckons Smiffs is a tramp.

He's fucked now!

It's the IRA sympathies I fucking object to.

I remember Warrington, the M6, Manchester etc. and I'll never forgive or forget.

Which are what exactly?

Chris Hughton stuck on with no more nails

Hill's a nailbiter, a telltale sign of being not of sound mind.

Chris Hughton is in Asda at mo, getting the Doughnuts in for the lads

I still cant believe Dennis Wise is 6/1. Why the fuck would we employ him as manager?

Edited by tylswhite

He (Hughton) will be on Ebay later, trying to source a couple of pool tables and some Chas n' Dave CDs - to win the players over straight away with a knees up and pool tourneys instead of training.

I'm basing this on absolutely f*ck all btw. :)

We wouldn't, but there's no real money going down on this yet and there's probably 3 or 4 like minded locals backing him.
