Games Consoles

9yr old daughter wants a games console.

Advice please?

Xbox or Playstation or something else?

both

Xbox, and get it "chipped", with attachable hard drive.

You will never have to pay for a game again.....aparently.

Should I be speaking to baz?

Indeed, Unc.

lad got the xbox one last christmas and its just about become his main machine

hes still been using the 360 until recently

i think a 360 is still a good buy for a 9 year old and not so expensive

game or whoever do second handers with a warranty for about 70 quid, i think

i thought a chipped box couldnt get on line?

If you're interested in a Xbox 360 talk to me..

My brother is after a retro console for Christmas, should I go with a Nintendo 64?

SNES, with SCOPE.

I'm happy enough for her not to be able to online, but I'd want the latest model of whichever machine I'm pointed towards.

Kids are fucking awful towards each other nowadays.

Wii U

What's that, mate?

Like the Wii?

does it play "normal" games where you don't have to swish the remote around?

Modern version of the Wii, bit more complicated, not sure about the swishing.

Daughters inherited my xbox 360...she is 10 in a few days

More than suitable for now

She can upgrade in a year or two

I'd say Wii U also

Mario Kart 8

Not sure what games a Xbox one or PS4 have to offer children, dance, singing, crash bandicoot esque games? little big planet would be fun I guess, but not out yet for PS4. Unless of course she likes sports, then don't go Wii U.

imo

Burgle the house of someone with a chipped one - free console, free games, erm...bargain!

You can even make a temporary stripey jumper with a regular white jumper and a roll of black insulating tape.

In ar blood, and da neighbour is an arse about letting me use his internet, the tight arse.

people will whinge when developers fall by the wayside and don't produce games anymore...

Xbox one. Good for more than just games Imo.

Do you or did you ever play on your kids games ? I know i did.

Bit of low blow there.

The wii was great for my daughter Traf and as someone who doesn't do games I liked it too. Was simple to use and she could even play on it with her grandma.
