Liverpool are awful

Pickford is annoying. All pointing and short passes at the back then nowhere near either goal. All the playing out from the back. Slow build up hoping to draw them in. Just too slow. Gordon not had a sniff with everything going down the right.

So frustrating . Like watching the BOL-OX final at times. Then they come out like Worl beaters for 10-15 mins and revert to type.

Decent second half but they’re an ageing team and our defence was woeful.

Pickford's brinkmanship as he delays releasing the ball will bite him in the arse at some stage.

Lot of folk saying that but after the first minute, I thought Konsa and Stones were well shielded by Rice and Anderson and Croatia were kept at arm’s length and forced into producing real quality to score so I’m not complaining.

This is the world cup and the top teams tend to have real quality!

We will need to be better defensively if we want to win the tournament.

Bit like watching Bolton this season- quite good offensively, but at times conceded too many.

Unfortunately, in a cup, we can't afford that one slip up game.

Yep. Great layoff for a shot from outside the box and a sublime chip over the top.

Not too much getting behind the FBs or through the middle so without dragging the whole team back, it’s about as much as you can hope for at this level.

That said, I noticed Rice getting caught forward at times and Kane dropping back to cover for him which isn’t ideal, but as I said, they can learn from it and with a tweak or two they’ll be right. Hopefully.

Anything would be more than we did, we don't appear to have tried very much.

I think I read that Soythgate once had a converzation with him but everything suggests he's been unequivocal in his wish to represent France

Invited to a bar in Fuengirola last night to watch the final playoff Almeria vs Malaga for promotion to the top tier of Spanish football. Mental scenes. Fireworks, traffic jams with honking horns, flags and flares inside bars, some of the Frente Bokeron ultras heading off to (supposedly - haven't seen any reports yet) torch a local Atleti bar in celebration. When the team arrived in Almeria there were some incidents too. No sleep last night thanks to noisy celebrations. Good siesta in order today for me.

Great night throughout Malaga Province. It was bouncing everywhere. Earlier in the season they were 4th from bottom. What a season.!!!!

It certainly was. Wife wanted retail therapy on a market today, Malaga shirts everywhere. Price was 50% up on last week but every bugger was buying them.

As you say, what a season. Great to see them back at the top table.
