I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

Well done Wigan.

Little wanker

Sunderland defended very resolutely but City lacked any real width and were very predictable then

Great atmosphere too. Just a shame we had to listen to Niall Quinn

I'm enjoying the Premiership this season with the Manc clubs and Chelsea inconsistent

Long may it continue

30,000 Irish died in WW1. No respect

Good to see the Norwich scarfers wearing their replica shirts. Sticking it to glazer where it hurts and an fcum scarf too?

Ha ha fuck off Stoke

Some crazy results today

He's still a cunt

Even if it was true, it should be his choice. Personally think people should wear one, but telling people to wear a poppy is ridiculous. It's all about people wanting to remember and wanting to do their bit for those who still need help - showing that you care.

When it becomes compulsory, it's no longer about people showing that sentiment, it's just a hollow badge.

So he doesn't want to remember the Irish who died in the war?

Edited by boltondiver

Until relatively recently quite a few clubs didn't even have the poppy symbol on their shirts:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1225325/Poppy-power-Now-Premier-clubs-refusing-Sportsmails-campaign-honour-heroes.html

'That leaves only three in the Premier League — Manchester United, Liverpool and Bolton who will play at the weekend without a poppy on their shirts in stubborn defiance of public opinion.'

So he doesn't want to remember the Irish who died in the war?

I'm not condoning not wearing one, but I'm sure there is more to it than not wanting to respect the dead (I don't actually know his reasons apart from being from Derry.)

Probably not. But it's his choice. Clubs should give players the option, then the fans can see which players do care - and judge them accordingly.

I reckon he's forgotten his history

I reckon he's forgotten his history

May well have, but he sets himself up for a lot of grief not to wear one and I suspect in his own head he has his reasons what they are? Who knows, Irish history isn't a strong point of mine.
