wtf are "expected goals" ?

I've Giggled it and this is the explanation ...

"Expected goals (or xG) measures the quality of a chance by calculating the likelihood that it will be scored from a particular position on the pitch during a particular phase of play. ... For example, suppose the chance from inside the box with a given set of pre-shot characteristics was worth 0.1 xG."

Nope. None the fckg wiser. Can anyone give it a car in normal words ?

It’s working out the probability in which you’d have a higher chance to score. You’ll have 3 colours and be able to calculate the xG

green is the highest probability and will be an 

Amber good chance 

Red low probability

It goes off Stats, so Kane for example if he scores the right side of the penalty spot, 12 yards out then they will look to get the ball into the EXG area 

xG=0.10×shots

The defending for that goal was league 2 standard

Burnley arent evolving at the moment, more stagnating. A couple of injuries to key players and they could well fall through the trap door.

Was really looking forward to this series the PL in 90s was ace, but without exaggeration 90% of the whole thing has been United focused.
