Really felt for them last night, game plan was spot on. Vinicius jnr had lost his head completely.

As we will never get any retribution for Zenden, it almost annoys me when a double kick is flagged elsewhere. They’ll win the whole thing again I’m sure.

Not 100% sure they will. Hoping a different Madrid player lifts it this time around. Marco Asensio alongside Unai Emery.

Be great to see Harry Kane lift it too. Inter should be considered.

Nobody is spotting that in real time though.

IMO it should've been allowed though, he's not seeking to gain any advantage and it's not like he's flicked it up and volleyed it.

funny how they got to the decision in 10 seconds but took the same system around 8 to spot an offside

I had to double check if Hutton played for us, which he did, but I get mistaken between him and Stephen Warnock, who we also had on loan from Villa

I genuinely can't remember if either were any good for us, but have to assume they were better than Arfield

couple of geordie mates today both said that they had this in their favour with a Mitrovic penalty against them for Fulham, though it sitll took var several minutes to decide that day

it's not like a player would ever try to gain an advantage by slipping

and they wouldn't even check it if he missed

whilst keepers can try to get a clearer advantage coming off their line and it has to be retaken

same with encroachment during normal time, a player can twat it unstoppably into the net and it's retaken because players went in the box having no outcome whatsoever on the kick

in summary

it's a bollocks rule and var in pen shoot outs is bollocks because they don't have the time to propely look at it like they would in normal time

No. See video below this was allowed but afterwards it was announced not allowed as one foot will always leave the ball a fraction of a second earlier than the other. ( I think)

The encroachment rule has changed and it only comes into effect if the player has a significant impact, so if someone thundertwats it in but his team mate has gone in area it stands. Same if keeper saves it, or the guy misses only if the player who has encroached gets involved in any rebound does it matter.
