These new contracts

How do you propose we pay them?

So you propose to have no players?

We pay them the same way as any other business. Whether the wages on offer will be accepted fuck knows.

SS will have a plan and budget, generally young players will be cheaper.

As for senior players still under contract; can't really see them wanting to hang around in league one. Free transfers will allow them opportunity to make up salary short falls elsewhere.

We were under embargo.

Which we still will be, until FFP has been filed.

DH already stated that will be quickly sorted. I'm happy enough to accept that, until it is shown otherwise.

Personally I wouldn't use the funds he said would be available to bring in a couple of players now, as I think it's too late. Better used for a new manager.

Unless I'm missing something we're looking at a first team squad on about 2 million a year

That's 40 k a week between 20?

It's gonna be very interesting as I reckon any 3 of the top earners eat that up and more

If SS are Venture capitalists and want a get a return on their investment there going to have to find cash to invest in players which are good enough to get us upwardly mobile, is DH that stupid to think he can get the club where it needs to be on a 2 million budget? I think not. Let's wait and see how this plays out. My view is Holdsworth will attempt to get the club up near the top of the championship with a possibility of Premier league and it wouldn't surprise me if Holdsworth sold the club within 3-5 years for a profit.

Holdsworth is making nothing out of this club.

Who in their right mind would buy us.

How dare you. He makes money make money!

Pointless speculating none of us know anything no matter how many on here say they do, i am willing to give the new owners a chance, mainly cause there is f**k all i can do about it, can we not just carry on supporting the team and leave the new owners to it?

There's a big world out there and lots of very wealthy folk even clubs like Bourbemouth been bought by wealthy Russian backers, the fact is Eddie Davies has committed the cardinal sin not invested wisely ran the club like a corner shop for 10 years and the clubs value has plummeted because of his piss poor management and customer relations. it's like any business don't look after it and the value plummets quickly, with a bit of a plan, vision and a bit of hard work and a slice of luck BWFC could be a decent investment.

It's a long shot from where we are at present, but with the new TV deal, won't any Premiership club be worth a bit?

Doubt there will be any transfers in for a while. The league want to approve any incomings and others in that situation have struggled to sign many! And it takes weeks.

My understanding was that the league haven't said that will be the case

However, they have warned that it might be

Oh well guess not

in england?

top 4 leagues, probs up to 30

but even bobbing around breaking even we'd be worth more than now

that seems a long way off without some price increases and a whopping sponsorship deal

How many football clubs make money?

The question should be how many clubs of Boltons size make money and I'd say not many but I would qualify that by saying if run correctly with proper management with contracts in keeping with the incomings it should be possible to run a club with little or no losses, part of Holdsworth plan is to attract good young players from premier league clubs these could be polished into diamonds with possibly large sell on values. I'd hope SS more savvy than ED that should not be difficult and I hope with his contacts he can bring in some young talent to supplement the ones we have.

anothe question, how many clubs in england with new grounds havent then been in financial shit

arsenal have handled it well (helped by 65 thou a week :) ), but my perception is that plenty others have struggled for whatever reason

even city looked like a basket case for a good while

The problem is the contracts we have offered players over the next 1, 2 and 3 years

it is just possible that there are relegation clauses in them, i suppose

if theres not, we've very little room for manoeuvre

we're being told lennon has one but that may just be guessage

Holdsworth is making nothing out of this club.

.

That depends if he gives himself a salary, bonuses & pension contributions on the scale of the previous chairman!

It'll be interesting to see who's on the new board & how much it costs.

People go on about the 10m non playing staff costs, yet forget a good chunk of that is paid to the board.

We didnt have relegation clauses when we expected relegation, i doubt we have them now.

Surely the non playing staff wages could be greatly reduced. Get rid of M Davies and a few other players and we are all set.

How do we 'get rid' of the high earners?

Y'know, the ones with contracts

Or they just sell the ground and Lostock to someone like Emerson group and make a huge profit very quickly on their £1 outlay

Fuck the club off into a ground share somewhere else like Leigh sports village and don't have to worry about ever giving ED any more cash as we won't be in line for any TV money any time soon

I think they'd make an easy £20m profit that way (fag packet) - for that sort of return you wouldn't mind taking out a pay day loan
