Just had a meeting on Churchgate. Sad to see the Bolton News offices empty. And in a week or two the Travel Counsellors building opposite will be empty. Another 200+ people spending approx £20 per week on parking and lunches in the town... plus whatever other services they spend their hard-earned on - all being lost. Very sad state of affairs.

 

When will it get better? Should these empty offices be turned into apartments?

So ok then. I asked you a question earlier on in this thread but you chose to ignore. When driving down Deane road and up Helen’s road do you sit there and think oh look, hasn’t multiculturalism done wonders to these areas? Do you think ohhh I wish white communities were like this?

We have fucked up. They’re outbreeding the white population in Bolton and moving out of their slums in to what was once white areas and the local whites are then moving further away to avoid them. We can co exist with them on a working level but outside of work you very rarely see whites and Muslims socialising. And that’s because we don’t share many of the same values. Hands up on here who can say one of their closest friends is Muslim? I doubt not many if any.

I've worked round there, and indeed in most places within our town.

Just like many other towns that have shit holes and nicer areas.

The answer is...I haven't lived in Bolton since 1999 and I can't remember the last time I dove down Deane Road and up St Helens Road as I've no real need to.

I was in the Derby Arms one Saturday night this summer and quite enjoyed it, if that's of any use/relevance to you.
