Compo Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 My lad has a Cnoc 16 and middle un has a Beinn 24. Pricey but worth the money and as Homo says they hold their value really well. I've just sold my Banshee Spitfire and built up a ht for the winter, will be ordering a Bronson CC early next year. Quote
Campos_Wig Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Another vote for islabikes, not cheap but very light with good resale value. Quote

aidybwfc Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 It's practically like new still so hoping to get back as much as I can for it cost me £699 Quote
Burndens Bogs Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 It's practically like new still so hoping to get back as much as I can for it cost me £699 It would probably fetch 350 -400 on the Bay, maybe more if you wait till spring/summer. Quote
Site Supporter only1swanny Posted December 30, 2015 Site Supporter Posted December 30, 2015 nice one cheers.. Giant trance x4.. any good for 300?? Quote
Burndens Bogs Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 (edited) The Trance X4 was around a grand when it was came out 6 years ago, a 2015 is around £1300 new.If it's an older one and it's a bit battered and needs £150 throwing at it, then maybe not. Anything newer that doesn't require any parts, then yes. Excellent bikes Edited December 30, 2015 by Burndens Bogs Quote

Burndens Bogs Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Swanny, even if the Giant Trance is a bit battered it will be 100 times better than a Rock Rider from Decathlon. Quote
Site Supporter only1swanny Posted January 1, 2016 Site Supporter Posted January 1, 2016 they relisted it and whacked the price up (even though it didn't sell at 300) Current prospects are Giant Railato at 140 (second hand) Rockrider 520 (250) Gt lts @ 250 (second hand) or a Ribble road bike at 250 (second hand) be nice to have a new bike with no issues, just get on and ride... still cant decide if mtb or road bike is the way forward, being 18 stone road bijes are not really meant for people my size Quote
Burndens Bogs Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 (edited) Swanny if you're undecided then buy a cheap MTB and see how you like it, personally I love it & lost 2 stones in the first 3 months - that was 5 years ago and I've never put any back on despite eating and drinking whatever the fuck I want. If you don't take to the MTB then try a road bike, I find road biking incredibly boring but each to their own. Whether you choose a MTB or road bike,if you buy one of the top 10 "brand" names, you can almost guarantee getting 70% of your money back when you sell it. Specialized Trek Giant Cube Cannondale GT Kona Orange Scott Canyon Maybe throw in Boardmans,Commencal,Yeti,Lapierre and a couple of others into the mix and you won't go far wrong went it comes to selling on. fishbulb Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Just to throw a spanner in the works maybe consider a cyclocross bike. Can ride off road or on road with just a change of tyres. Quote

Site Supporter only1swanny Posted January 3, 2016 Site Supporter Posted January 3, 2016 I've headed towards road bikes again, been to look at a few second hand bikes and they were all hammered... Road bikes seem to be looked after a lil more, then maybe keep my eye open for a decent mtb down the line. Quote
Compo Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Had a CX bike for a while but couldn't get on with it, was great for bridleways/canals etc but wasn't much fun taking it down San Marino a couple of times. What's your budget out of interest? Quote

What's your budget out of interest? You rode a CX down the San Marino? Kinell, it's hard enough on a decent Full Suspension, i've seen plenty come a cropper riding down there even on decent Mountain bikes. Edited January 3, 2016 by Burndens Bogs Quote
