Really need to replace my old one as the battery is nacked and out of production now.

What should I go for: make,model/power etc.

Sure the good folk of ww will have an answer. Anywhere doing good deals?

Screwfix..

Dewalt ones.. Not often on offer but when they are..

Decent enough mid level stuff

Last set I bought was a duel makita lithium jobby.

2 drills, one impact driver and one changeable screw gun.

Was about £100

Took some hammer in my old profession and is still going strong now.

Like has been said if its just for mid range stuff you can't go wrong with an 18v dewalt. Make sure it has a hammer setting.

What ever u get make sure it comes with two batteries.

Why not go all the way and tell him to get a Festool? :D

Well there's always one internet cock waver and this time it's my turn.

Ignore the fact I acquired it through work!

We generally get dewalt from screwfix

I don't take much notice but I think it's generally about getting the latest tech battery after that

Make sure it has a hammer setting.

Thanks all. Walked over to screwfix and acquired a makita. Funily enough, was on the bridge over the A666,and started thinking about that Burnden picture. Started reminiscing with the young one about going to the game.

Glad this boring thread is done with :)
