So What's It Going To Be Like In Div 1?

Wanderer through and through but been working for a current League 1 club for 9 years now. In that time - most of it spent in L2 - I've seen a lot of lower league football and it's going to be really hard for us. There are plenty of good sides down here and clubs with bigger fan bases than ours that have struggled to make the kind of impact you might expect of a 'bigger club.' Coventry, Sheff United, Pompey are all decent examples of this. Macron will be the best stadium in the division and teams will raise their game against us. There are also some bloody good managers down there. Neil McDonald (now where did he come from?) is performing miracles at Blackpool, Nigel Adkins at the Blades, Clough continuing the good work done by JFH at Burton, Tony Mowbray, Phil Parkinson, somebody Brown... take your pick.

Things are grim in BL6. Ultimately where I'm at right now, is that somehow we can come out of this with a football club to support and in its current guise. You can't let almost 140 years of history simply disappear and if relegation is the worst that comes out of this - even a double relegation - I'd rip your arm off for that. As an aside, I was reliably informed yesterday by someone who is highly regarded in the game and has fantastic contacts in Lancashire, that any LAND deals would go directly to ED and not to the football club.

It will be like the last few times we've been in that division.

Shit home crowds and ridiculously large away followings

Expectations set way too high, loads of grumblings, but a slow and gradual climb back up the leagues

We need a manager with experience at that level absolutely essential aswell as getting some players in who know how the league works in and around our you'uns - Phil brown Keith hill and when wolves pot him kenny jacket good candidates for me

Exactly! A decent manager who knows the ropes is imperative and a manager with tactical nous who can get the best out of his players. Pretty much the opposite of Lennon tbh. (Keith Hill would be my choice)

It's not  rocket science - fuck Lennon off & all the sponging high earning low achieving players.

Get a manager in who actually cares about our club & play young hungry talented kids with a couple of 'owd heads thrown in.We'll all have some fun as we claw our way back up the divisions.

It'll be like 1992 all over again.....what's not to like?

Lower leagues for BWFC?  been there done that.

We'll be back

We might win some matches at last that's if NL been sacked!

I like this except it'll be more like 82 not 92 and that's the problem and for those who weren't there in 82 I can tell you we've seen nothing yet.

yes but will you? and everyone else who has given up ?

I think if we go into admin and get points deduction Lennon will walk. He wont want to be in charge of us in league 1.

Is there a list somewhere of managers who have walked?

We are going down without the points deduction.

When does the prats contract run out

it doesn't ,rolling contract.wish i had one

Don't think our crowds will suffer as badly as they did in the 80s, that was a bad decade for football crowds around the country.

That's about the only positive I can think of at the moment.

When I was 10yo in 1983, my mother was terrified about me going to the game. Wonder why.

league 1 might be Lennon's level.

Cash flow, debt (recent or otherwise), deficit...all are the responsibility of the highly paid chief executive and board, not the fans. They were the ones giving the green light to mega bucks contracts even after we were relegated (whether the fans were calling for those signings is irrelevant - fans always call for signings, but crucially don't have the club's financial figures in front of them), not to mention a load of loan signings just a few weeks ago when they must have known the iceberg was on the horizon. Or perhaps they didn't know what was coming. Perhaps they're even more fucking stupid than they appear to be. Either way, they - all of them, ED, PG, Warburton and the rest - are culpable and have fucked 140 years of history.

THIS

league 1 might be Lennon's level.

It's the same level as Kilmarnock, st Johnstone, hearts, Patrick Thistle etc etc

Who would all beat our current set-up.
