February 21, 201610 yr We should have made him sign a longer contract at the start of this season We should have signed Messi and Ronaldo but that didn't happen either.
February 22, 201610 yr I blame them cunts Megson/Coyle/Freedman for this The ticket office not involved in this debacle?
February 22, 201610 yr we need to keep him. Holding and a fit wheater would be a solid partnership im not sure you're grasping the level of wages we are (sensibly) able to pay, even in this league if we go down, theres gonna be some real 'lack of ambition' rants
February 23, 201610 yr Holding and Dervite is likely to be our cb partnership next season if we go down. Now the sale is through the club can get the embargo lifted and get him a new contract. Academy lads and bog average players who've failed elsewhere is our short term future.

As the embargo we got was we couldn't sign off the accounts, will they not need auditing again to prove the going concern rule ?
February 23, 201610 yr As I understood it we weren't in breach of FFP other than being unable to guarantee finances for the foreseeable.

As the embargo we got was we couldn't sign off the accounts, will they not need auditing again to prove the going concern rule ? The accounts only need to be audited and filed to companies house 9 months after year end (end of March). Due to all the issues at the moment, and everything going on with the club, I would think the accounts will be signed on the 31st March, giving Deloitte as long as possible to conclude on the going concern review. Whether we can get something to FFP before that to lift the embargo, once the deal has gone through, I don't know.
February 23, 201610 yr As I understood it we weren't in breach of FFP other than being unable to guarantee finances for the foreseeable. IIRC that was the hold up the books were done but didn't have the future guarantees bit signed off as the club had no idea what was going on
February 23, 201610 yr I just thought wheater has the better experience for holding to learn from. Even if he is always injured!
February 23, 201610 yr I just thought wheater has the better experience for holding to learn from. Even if he is always injured! As experienced as he is......I reckon he's probably earning 3 or 4 times what we can afford next season, for that reason I guess he'll be moving on
