Thanks for posting these Sweep, the coloured one my favourite. I wonder if any BWFC fans there that day still alive? Would love to hear the tale from Barnestoneworth whites grandad.

I'm surprised you believe it actually happened :)

Sadly he's no longer with us, but every time it cropped up on the telly or in the papers, he would say I was there. Unfortunately he wasn't one for chittle-chattel or going into detail with things so I never got chapter and verse of the day.

Miami ran a charra down there. Threepence with a much sasprella as you could supp. Got smashed off our tits with junior aspirin and wasted Wrexham on the Chester toll road.

yes, there were loads of others, I just chucked them though

My grandad was there. Apparently they opened the gates for the king and he legged it in for free.

Shame your grandad never gave chapter n verse, folk from that era weren't much for talking same for my grandma.

Where is this?

Are you asking because you know? Or because you don't? Either way I'll go for one of the Sheffield clubs or Bradford.

It's nearer to Manchester than the majority of their supporters.

The cost for the enclosure was 3/- (15p for moderns) and the average price of tickets was 22p.

Doesnt that ticket above say £1 1 shilling?

Doesnt that ticket above say £1 1 shilling?

Yes but it is for a seat and not a terrace ticket.

Is that us rushing the OB in the bottom photo? The lad in the wheelchair looks like a young Stephen Hawking leading the youth into the fray!

The lad in the centre looks about to land a left hook on the copper.
