August 13, 201610 yr Laura Trott.....she's lovely. I'd like to sniff her seat It would smell like a Farnworth lads jizz MMW
August 13, 201610 yr It would smell like a Farnworth lads jizz MMW I wish you hadn't said that. Put me right off my stroke
August 13, 201610 yr Ennis got her work cut out tonight. Will need to smash the 800m Aye, been a very weird competition, the Belgian girl the only one putting in a strong showing. Just have to hope she's never run a quick 800m because she can't, rather than because she's never had a good reason to.
August 13, 201610 yr I've got this nagging doubt that tonight might just go tits up and Ennis, Rutherford and Farah all get beaten

August 13, 201610 yr Bit worried about Johnson-Thompson here. She looks seriously nervous in this javelin.

August 13, 201610 yr That's what pissed me off about them. Those lads who got silver who worked their arsed off for four years and did really well, only missing out by a world record performance will get ignored. Thank you Kent. Some of the lesser minds on here think I make this shit up. At least you have personal experience of it. They don't like losers here. Silver medallists "are just the best losers".
August 13, 201610 yr This nob ont moped needs to fuck off! Listen, they are not fucking mopeds right. All 4 are classic Italian scooters. Fuck off yourself.
August 14, 201610 yr Looks like Rutherford is gonna miss out, though Ennis could still pull it off. Farrah pisses it and manages to have a lie down half way through. Edited August 14, 201610 yr by bgoefc
August 14, 201610 yr That foul from Rutherford looked very close. Would be interesting to know how close he was to that South African. Have a feeling he might do something special in this last jump...
August 14, 201610 yr Malcolm - the heptathletes. Having watched the Brit girl struggle to clod the javelin further than Phil Taylor would have, the cynic in me has to ask: are they actually any good at these disciplines? Or are they rejects from the specialist events which means they have to be half arsed at loads of events rather than very strong in one or two? I mean I admire their all round ability but I can't help but think they're there because of a lack, rather than abundance, of ability.

Have a feeling he might do something special in this last jump... Aye but looks happy with his bronze given that the yank nearly won it with that last jump but left his hand in the sand. Good comp that with 4 in contention for gold right up until the last round. Edited August 14, 201610 yr by bgoefc
August 14, 201610 yr Ennis got her work cut out tonight. Will need to smash the 800m She needs to be just about 10 secs ahead of the Senegalese Belgian. Her pb is just about that, but clearly Thiam has got more scope to improve.

KJT is hardly a reject from the high jump - she broke the British record yesterday. She is also good enough to be competitive internationally at long jump. In 2014 she did a triple jump for Liverpool which was wind assisted but otherwise was only bettered by 3 Britons that year. She also ran one 400m Hurdles league race and ranked tenth in UK in 2014. She clearly has a problem with throws. But whereas Ennis has overcome her relative weakness in throws KJT has not. Yet her coach was himself a shot and discus performer, although his best coaching success was World and Olympic HJ medals with Steve Smith in the 1990s.
August 14, 201610 yr Good effort from Ennis but long jump let her down. Thiam's series was 6.18, foul, 6.58. That last jump lifted her by 128 pts. But she did 5 pbs from 7 events, as befits a winning breakthrough. So 3 golds from 4 years ago have become gold, silver and bronze this year for the same trio, which is still pretty good.

I'm gutted for KJT that she didn't get a medal. She certainly needs to improve her chucking as well. She also looks lije she gets mentally affected if she puts in a bad round. She looked like she'd lost any chance, going off her body language, straight after the long jump
