Story was from yesterday - don't think he signed. Why would administrators sell players at this stage? Makes no sense at all.

Maybe he decided to exercise his option to quit having not been paid like ameobi did

Yeah possible I guess.

Doesnt he need to give notice?? - thought there was only Pole and sammy that did that

We wouldn't know whether he has or not over the summer though would we? Until they are paid he can give notice at any point. And they are unpaid. So it is possible he handed notice this month.

Has the Pole signed for Wigan yet???

He was happy enough to sign a new three-year contract under Parky. And then left to play at a higher level.

Yes. Wasn't daft enough to hang around and risk stagnation.

He hung around for the best part of two-and-a-half seasons, with no sign of stagnation. But anyway.

He didn't play for Bolton so he's a bit of an irrelevance...

He's relevant to whether Parky has "proven he can work with anything else", which is what I was replying to. And that's relevant to us in that it might suggest there were other reasons why we struggled to fit le Fondre and Doidge into the starting line-up. He's unlikely to be our current manager for much longer, though, so let's leave it at that.

Nahki Wells = One drop of rain in a very large desert 😊

How old was he at the time?

A young player perhaps still learning. In fairness that's a remarkable feather in PPs cap as he's not exactly overly keen on blooding youngsters.

Be honest about it; any player with footballing ability isn't hanging around with Parky for any longer than he needs to.

He'd put Gonzo, pepped to fuck on his doctored skunk, to sleep by half time.

Wells was just one example. The point is, if Parky felt the midfield was good enough to accommodate two centre forwards, he probably would've done. Obviously, he didn't.

I think he's been wrong about plenty of things, but I don't think he was wrong about that.

Oh here we go

Who are these youngsters he hasn't blooded

Have they signed for Curzon Ashton, yet

23/24, so at the age he would earn his girst proper contract. And in the form he was in, I doubt very much that he wouldn't have been able to attract offers from elsewhere. Yet he still chose to sign the contract.

Players are often happy to re-sign for Parky at different clubs, Morais being one.

As for him not bringing younger players through, he was the one who first found a proper role for Vela. Everton were happy enough to let him coach Williams, Connolly and Robinson. And Connell appears to be doing alright.

Could they have done much worse than the shower of shite he fielded last season? Truth is he has a decent record at this level but that's his limit, however his approach & tactics are pretty unappetising & after last season the vast majority of fans don't want him here...its time for PPexit.

Believe it or not, I'd say yes, they could've done a fair bit worse

Despite having two strikers with all the fire power of a spud gun we weren't out of it when we won at QPR

Then our little soldiers downed tools

If we had had a decent striker ripping up trees, then I'd agree with you, but we haven't

We all know how well Hall didn't do in the league below

Fact is, the kids probably aren't good enough and if they are, they'll get picked off this summer

Lets see where they end up, but evidence to date suggests the decent ones get in the team, get a decent move away, Holding, clough and possibly Connell

The rest, it's out of the league and it's all because the manager of the day didn't play them

From the report in the BN it's clear that Ameobi didn't want to be here after the window.

Yet he still picked him, he was shit, the team was shit etc.

Doesn't matter if the youngsters aren't good enough, if a player doesn't want to play he shouldn't be picked.

What if the youngsters didn't want to be here either? Bit much really to throw kids into that sort of situation. So it makes perfect sense. Play Ameobi who might want away but knows he'll be ok and is experienced enough to deal with the ridiculousness of it all.

Why wouldn't the kids want to be here? Why even suggest it when it's not relevant?

In January players were being paid.

Read the article, it says clearly that he wasn't happy that he couldn't go to Forest. And he showed it afterwards.

By January things were unravelling. I mean they'd been bad all season. I get why kids weren't thrown in.

Yet when we do throw them in they miraculously turn into our best players.

dont remember too many threads about connell and his exploits in the youth teams before he played for us.

likewise holding only had 1 game at bury across a 3 month loan period. And now he’s playing for one of the biggest clubs in the country. Does that mean it can’t happen for Hall?

Your argument against kids is well stated. But we simply don’t have enough evidence that they would do worse because they are never played.

See I genuinely think that you're looking at this through a lens that is desperate to show one thing but you're missing the obvious...

When they're good enough we throw them in...

Even then, one might argue that Connell who has been persistently injured since we gave him starts - perhaps physically wasn't quite developed enough for regular first team football....

Clough as well, he came out of nowhere for his Wigan debut and was ace that day

Hunt and Holden too back in the day, plenty good enough and got the chance, and did well

even Vela

think folk just wanted Samizadah, and a few like himm to be as good as he seemed to be in the academy and see his excusion as some sort of dropped bollock rather than sound judgement, but forget about all the ones who got a chance and did well

it would've been good though to still see them given a cup game or a sub apperance to see how they got on
