He's under contract and Celtic invite him for a tour and talks.
After the day at Celtic, Luca informs the club of his desire to invoke the 14-day rule, which the club have rightly declined.

Luca, his dad, his agent, Lennon & Celtic have all behaved like cunts here IMO.

Still no ill will to Connell.

He ahad the chance to play for Celtic potentially in european games getting paid every month and try and get a regular spot in the Irish squad.

or he can stick around in league one in a shit show with a team no fucker knows who will be in it that still doesn't know if it will exist to start the season.

Take out the fact its us he's leaving and he'd be daft not to.

Is the correct answer.

And surely there are rules about tapping players up?

If what Liverpool was doing with Virgil Van Dijk was tapping a player up, Celtic should be getting done.  Not like Brighton etc the other teams after him have invited him to there stadium & have talks with him to strengthen there position while hes under contract with us.

I can't remember how this 14 day notice works?

Yes, I understand why they can submit one but is it negated if the club pays the player his wages in full before the 14 days expires?

If, as we are led to believe that the sale is imminent then presumably there's been an agreement with all the creditors reached, and that being so, football creditors (of which Connell is one) would be paid immediately.

That being the case I can understand the Administrator saying in 14 days you will have been paid in full and if you want to go to Celtic or anywhere else then your new owner will want to discuss a more realistic offer for them to sign you as you are still under contract to BWFC.

If it is not negated even though he is paid in full then please ignore what I've said.

(Oh and just before someone might suggest that as he's on peanuts anyway, why not pay him in full now, I don't believe that to be possible as you can't treat one creditor more favourably than any other - so if the pay Connell, they would have to pay the rest of the players in full (and presumably everyone else) at the same time).

From what Iles has said - so assuming he is right - when notice is submitted if they are paid in full within 14 days of that then the notice is negated. The thing might be - are new owners going to backdate player pay in full? I don't know....

He's a scholar, isn't he

So probably a different set of rules

Pay up his contract in full - probably cheaper than a tribunal - and on we go.

Lad is looking after himself, we’ve got no protection because we weren’t in a position to put him on a pro contract and he’s moving outside of England so compensation is negligible. Essentially no different to if he was a 14 year old in the academy. Such is life.

They have to do he is a footballing creditor - the new owners can't exit Admin without paying them in full first.

Yep, if we only paid him, then the others might go on strike...

Oh, wait...
