Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted January 12, 2017 Site Supporter Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) Anyone done anything about travel for this yet? Just booked my train, prices not too bad for a week day either. Down on the 12.15 from Picc, stop overnight home following morning. Only booked the Manc - London bit yet, £86 in 1st class - cattle class is £44. These are return prices Edited January 13, 2017 by Biggish Dave Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Booked in at the King Edward with the mrs and two mates. Won summat on Twitter with Virgin 11 months ago for a pair of free return tickets on West Coast Main Line so that's done us as far as London then it's ended up about £12 each for the London-Gillingham leg with our Two Together Railcard. Two lads coming with us have used our discount for their Manc-London leg so cost them about £42 overall for trains I think which isn't bad at all given the distance. Quote

Is it worth me getting this two together before Gillingham? What does it save you? Quote
Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted January 18, 2017 Author Site Supporter Posted January 18, 2017 Costs £30 to buy I think and saves a third - Gillingham alone should pay for it, any other trips over the next 12 months with your travel partner will have you in profit. Even Sheffield has saved a tenner between 2 Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Is it worth me getting this two together before Gillingham? What does it save you? Can't recommend it enough. Pays for itself with any trip over £45 and then the savings roll in after that. Quote
tomski Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 (edited) Can't recommend it enough. Pays for itself with any trip over £45 and then the savings roll in after that.so a £57 journey would save me? Thanks fellas Edited January 18, 2017 by tomski Quote
Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted January 19, 2017 Author Site Supporter Posted January 19, 2017 so a £57 journey would save me? Thanks fellas I presume you're talking £57 each so a total of £114. You save a third of that so a saving of £38 - that pays for your railcard and first pint you each have Quote
Marc505 Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Oxford away has just been confirmed for the following Tuesday after Gillingham. Mileage! Quote
radcliffe white Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Aye coming thick and fast, Feb,march and April got decent always but obviously £££ Quote
Marc505 Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Went to Oxford in summer for a night out and was surprised to find it was a bit shit really, probably better during Uni semesters like, but just couldn't seem to find an area with a lot going on. £££ and work annual leave is going to stop me from going to at least one of these midweekers Quote

Leyther_Matt Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 Only a tenner behind the goal for thisDepends how many we're expecting to take, think they've put a few clubs just in the side stand. At least we'd get a roof if that was the case. Quote
