Crypto Currency

Anyone had a dabble?

I was told to get on bitcoin years ago but thought the lad who tipped me off was smoking crack. Turns out even a modest £1,000 investment then would have seen me become a multi millionaire now ffs

One lad I know has made about £700k on something called Ether from a few grand invested

Few of the lads are going balls deep into ripple bits as we speak

I'm weighing up a piece of the action

It looks like a volatile road but incredibly profitable if you land on the right peg

I think so....

It does seem a bit "pyramid selling" doesn't it

With Traf sitting at the top.

That's not what I was getting at to be honest....if you can get some of these things for free, then why not give it a whirl, what's the worst that can happen.

As with all investments, only gamble what you can afford to lose, this might end up being a pile of cack.....it might be the next Bitcoin. You've got to be in it to win it!

I refer you to what my FA said on post 9 of this thread.

its easier to just set a company up today and call it "Blockchain and Sons' and sell it for a billion dollars tomorrow.

First time I've ever understood what you've posted. Think I preferred it when you typed gibberish.

Hey there,

The DGTX token sale starts on January 15th and the excitement is building! To give you an idea, we've got over 3,000 people PER HOUR signing up for more info on our website :) Here's how to buy DGTX tokens:

Buy the cryptocurrency called Ethereum (ETH) from an exchange like Coinbase.com or Kraken.com.

Create an Ethereum wallet at www.MyEtherWallet.com and send your ETH from Coinbase or Kraken to your new wallet.

On January 15th, send ETH from your MyEtherWallet to the DGTX Token Sale address that we will publish on our website.

When the DGTX Token Sale smart contract receives your ETH payment it will automatically calculate how many DGTX tokens you should receive (at $0.01 per DGTX token) and it will send that many DGTX tokens to your MyEtherWallet.

Any questions just send us an email or drop into our Telegram channel and we'll be happy to help. For now, all you need to do is get your Ethereum wallet set up and loaded up with some ETH and ready to go for January 15th. I'll be in touch very soon with more info and updates.

Adam Todd

Bet ETHEREUM are chuffed about this. Oh, and look, their price has been shooting up last couple of days.

Coincidence?

This marketplace is rife with tricks, cons, FUD, etc.

Bad press from NY Times - XRP dips - day after CEO makes a statement contradicting NYT and price of XRP recovers.

Bet all the staff at NYT made a fair old butty from this!

Fake news!

They have all been shooting up to various degrees

Have any completely collapsed yet?

They can’t all be the next big thing, bloody hundreds of them now

What site can I register to do this. I think I am gonna have a little dabble

I’m prepared to have you all laugh at me when your all millionaires and I’m still a pauper but I can’t get my head round it and don’t see it being profitable long term.

Sure it will stick around but there has to be a ceiling on its value like with normal stocks/shares otherwise every dick and his dog will be a millionaire by 2020.

If that’s the case, I had better brush up on my CGT skills as there will be thousands of returns to do

There's a new coin launching (well, token to be accurate) in nine days time that I reckon will do very well, and you can get 1000 for free just by registering on the website.

I'll be buying a load when it launches because they will be 1 cent and, if you think about it, they only need to go to 2 cents to double your money. They could go to $1 or $10 or even $100.

Worth having 1000 for free in anycase and, if you fancy a dabble, worth putting a few quid in too.

Please use my referral link...

I'm buying £500 of this, end of.

I'll either make a few quid or I'll lose £500.

I've lost £3k+ in an afternoon's racing before now, so it's just another punt to me.

What is the tax status on Crypto, is it like making money on any other currency or shares profit?

To be perfectly honest Birch, I've never looked into it. Not sure what the HMRC take on it is but I would imagine it will be like shares profit as the government will want their share of CGT. That said though, they won't want people offsetting capital losses against other gains.

Will make some enquiries

Just had a look - it will become liable to CGT once any gain is crystalised and it is converted into another currency - even if it is another crypto. There is no specific legislation for it yet but it will be on its way

That could become fun to try and police

Big E wants a slice of the pie = ripple price drops 30%

Doggycoin doubled over the weekend

Big E wants a slice of the pie = ripple price drops 30%

The whole market crashed after Coinmarketcap (one of the "regulatory" sites) decided that the Korean market prices had to be removed from the worldwide market prices..... in Korea I believe they pay 25% - 30% fees to trade, thus it inflates the price artificially. eg. Ripple was $4 overnight in Korea, but around $2.90-$3 everywhere else. When they made the price correction across all the Cryptos without notice, it was large enough to cause major panic and folk were offloading like there was no tomorrow.

I held and held and got nervous as hell! When Ripple hit 2.04 (sell) 2.14 (buy), eToro closed the market. Pretty scary stuff (my profits had dropped 70% from the high of last Thursday morning). Thankfully when the market reopened, the price had rebounded back up to 2.32 (sell) 2.41 (buy). Its just above that now. Great entry point for anyone getting onboard. Didn't think we'd see less than $3 again after it reached $3.40 last Thursday.

Ripple suffered more than most as its main backers are the Korean people. I read something like 30% of working folk in South Korea have bought into Ripple.

As it was falling today I was topping up here and there, not expecting it to go much less than $2.40. Sadly I had no funds available to buy at the bargain basement price of $2.14. Gutted.

Exciting at times, hellish at others. You need to be pretty strong willed at this game.

Buy low.

Sell on the moon.

What price will you be a ripplionaire?

I won’t. Not got the balls for dips like today.

Sell Ripple

Buy Twix

I've read XRP is likely to stabilise at around $10 and then will likely follow the same rises and falls of a regular currency...

If this happens then the likes of Amazon etc. may begin to accept it as payment, then the die will be cast.

Ergo :) anyone who's not acquired a hundred odd thousand XRP is unlikely to become a millionaire.

I've took my cash out of Plus500 today - the buy price was often around the days high - shite.

Still got my Ripple wallet tho' - you have to leave 20 XRP in anyhow, so...

Hung up my red braces for the last time.

Had a look at all the alt coins yesterday.

One called Flash is up 3333% in last 30 days. £100 would be £333,300 now! Better still, you’d probably have purchased it with Ethereum - which is up over 50% in that same time. So probably over £0.5m from £100!!
