Klasnic taking a shot that he fucked up so bad it went out for a throw behind him.   Campo getting tackled by a carrier bag.   As good a player they might have been, comedy moments always stand ou

The wrong Private investor in many cases results In clubs nearly going bust whereas I doubt any ST have ever took a club into that situation, clearly a trust can only do so much a great example being Pompey a club not unlike ours in size wth similar fan base they saved the club put it on an even keel and have now handed onto a private investor, without the Pompey Trust there is a good chance the club would not now exist.

The Pompey trust raised £2.5 million and paid off all creditors and debts.

Fans initially paid £100 each to join then most pledged £1k each to raise cash.

The trust itself had some very wealthy backers who all put in huge sums.

They also appointed Trevor Birch to run it on a whopping wage.

We have a few mushrooms that couldnt run a bath and haven't got £3 between em.

Our fans can just about turn up for a game when it's £5 a ticket never mind chuck in £1k

I think you'd find there is similar money in Bolton Wanderers fans as there is Portsmouth fans. There's plenty money in Bolton. When it came  down to it the money wasn't needed in our case, when push came to shove Eddie sorted out a deal with the tax bill.

Weve plenty of fans who'd chuck in 1K and a fair few who I'm sure have the wherewithal to be high net worth investors we are no different to Pompey should the worse ever happen I'd take my chance with any safety net and that's what a trust ultimately is, the alternative could be that we cease to exist I know which option I prefer.

Allardyce had it in for Johansen virtually from the off. He'd won him over though by the time he was close to leaving. Hence the efforts to retain him.

Once asked a Bolton player (reserve) about the same time if he got on with Allardyce. He diplomatically replied, he has his favourites. It fair to say Johansen wasn't.

Him and Frandsen were my favourite players round that era, seems to be during a black hole of coverage though, there's very little on YouTube.

I want to see that screamer he scored against Ipswich at home in the play offs again.

We were about 3 seconds from going under.

The only people that came forward with any cash was KA and DH with his wonga loan.

Nobody from Bolton came forward with any money. Not that makes any difference where the money comes from.

As it stood and as it stands the ST could afford to run a butty van never mind fund losses and pay tax bills.

Any this is the wrong thread, Nathan Blake, how ace was he? :D

Operating costs of £1.5m a month when The Andersons rolled into town.

So that's a grand each from 18,000 people every year.

Piece of piss when you break it down.

I wouldn't give Izza the fluff at the bottom of my 2p jar.

And as some pointed out earlier - when we have the £5 matches the paying public cant be arsed to turn out, and when we have cup matches a good percentage of season ticket holders cant be arsed with that

I think this is the concern, we were very close to going under, and none of the "high net worth individuals" bothered at that time

As for fans chucking in £1000, I'm not sure how many of them there would be. Although if it came to it, we might be pleasantly surprised

If they asked most of us on here at the end of a Saturday post-match drink we would happily sign a £1k cheque.

Depends how shit the game was. After some games there's plenty doubting why they bother at all

Some of the balloons that run multi-million dollar businesses on here can chuck in for me, cheers.

negative / realistic

tomato / tomayto

potato / potarto

There is case that if you had a pot of money you would better the club went into admin, clear the debts, take a points reduction and then start again. Why would anyone invest in a club with debts and losing £800k per month ?

Surely were not losing £800000per month now. Decks cleared of high earners, bar Pratley, championship football and a fairly small debt.

Season ticket sales going well, and season not yet started with transfer window still open.

Fairly small debt of about 35 million, i reckon

Do you really think its that high?

Just remembering sweaty saying he had parties saying they might be interested in investing once he got the shares. At that level, can't see many wanting in.

Guess we'll see.

before we start, ED is around 15, i think

Brett, 2.5

Prescott another 5?

Blumarble/SS, 4 or 5

Maybe KA

So aye, we have debts

Hasn't Ed wiped some more of his off. And the rest won't realistically be paid. Don't think anyone fancies us for the prem yet.

As for the blue marble lot, I have a feeling that as part of kens acquisition, that will be sorted in a ken sort of way.
