What I am saying is that whatever solution is developed one side or the other will be unhappy, therefore we need proper and detailed negotiations with a clear and workable solution. The current UK Govt are constantly issuing sound bites and threatening the EU IMO this childish approach won't work. The idea this all 'their' fault just makes the process less likely to succeed. The fact 'we' keep changing what we need is not the EUs fault.
I assume you agree that our membership of the EU made it easier to manufacture a workable solution ?

Yes, of course it made it easier but like it or not the decision was made to leave the EU. Nobody would have started from where Boris had to after the May capitulation and we’re suffering from that now but to suggest just because it’s difficult we should give in is not an option. Negotiations will continue to be difficult because it suits the EU for it to be that way.
 

Actually if the government was really smart they might use the situation to their advantage by expanding businesses in the North who have access to the EU single market? who knows, if the North starts undermining businesses in the South the EU might be the ones wanting them out?

Boris did his own over ready deal, blaming May is just another distraction , he set the timetable based on yet another political sound bite.

Who said give up ? All I have asked for is a proposed solution. Mounts gave one, I asked who would pay and run it ?
