Lots of Tory voters just stay quiet the vast majority of the time. Mainly due to the bile and hatred directed our way. Seems acceptable to people.. despite the #bekind movement, still seems fair game to compare the PM to a cabbage as a marketing ploy.

May eventually try and become a Councillor, however for now it's not the right time. I work (for now) in an industry ran by reds. It would end badly. Had a teacher friend a few years ago.. had.. decided to accuse me as far right to his a level students at work because I was a Tory member. I discuss politics in work as I'm meant to. Always impartial, but if my political allegiances were common knowledge, I'd get scrutinised.  Sad, but true.

That’s one thing I’ve noticed Over the last 6/7 years,  the hatred from the left towards the right is on another level compared to that shown by the right to the left.

It was a lettuce, not a cabbage.

Why, what's happened to you?

It’s a sorry state when right is seen as bad and left good. I’ve picked up on this before. It’s got worse since Brexit.
Democracy always has two sides. Without it, we don’t have democracy.

I thought the comment earlier about you teaching and you are Conservative summed it up.

Who?

None.

I've explained my reasons for rejoining but they don't have my support without criticism and if I don't like the direction I may leave again.

I couldn't vote for Corybn, not him per say, but I disagreed with the Momentum side of the party. I left when Brown became leader as at that time I was a dyed in the wool Blairite and didn't think the party was listening to concerns in certain parts of the country.

What people seem not to understand that within any party that are a huge range of positions and less agreement than folk may think - even at a local level there are huge arguments. It's easier to think blue vs red.

Fractions are quieter when a party is gaining successes so the Labour party is currently a quieter ship as even the union leaders are being nice to Starmer and they are not huge fans but the party has wrested control back from the Corybnites, the Tories are going through a similar in fighting clusterfuck at the moment.

It's not odd to join a party if you would like a certain outcome and instead of just bitching and moaning I wanted to do a small part in getting rid of this government that I think has inflicted real damaged across this country to make it better. I don't see that as odd, if more people did the same and engaged for what they wanted maybe we wouldn't have such an apathetic disregard for the mismanagement of the country - whatever side your politics lie on.

To be fair, it was the Star that compared Truss to a lettuce not a cabbage due to its shelf life. The Star isn't exactly MSM either, it has less readers than any viable newspaper going, I am amazed it can still afford to go to print with such a small readership.

To be Tory isn't far right at all, but the fact that folk are saying that these days is not down to you but the direction that party has taken in recent times.

Don't tie the blue scarf around your neck so tight that it cuts off the blood to your head. It's OK to to reevaluate your thinking when the party you used to support become utter cunts. Or, if you still do, then at least try and back up why they aren't cunts when everyone is wondering what the fuck is going on!

Maybe because the “silent majority” seem happy to sit and watch their elected party run riot - corruption, lying  - and not actually hold this behaviour to account.

by doing so, it’s natural for people with a conscience to react.

Just because they’re staying silent, it doesn’t make it acceptable.

Grooming gangs. The “woke” are often accused of allowing them to run riot because a silence descends.

fortunately, the right wing make a song and dance which highlights the issue.

If it’s good for the goose etc…

Eaten tofu.

I know. What have you observed though?

Let's not forget that BJ tried to get a sex pest off the hook. Now how many of you Tory boys think that is acceptable?

Hatred from the left to the right more than the other way round.

I think he's asking have has this been manifested in your observations. What examples of this hatred have you borne witness to.

Using Google, go back a few years and look at the demos after Brexit, after Trump got in and after Boris got in, use that as a start. Then come back and I’ll point you to some more.

To be fair, the incidents of tooled up socialists going on rampages around Tunbridge Wells are on the increase.

Can't get a parking spot at waitrose these days without getting a sandal in the mush.

You said I should refer to Swanny's post... Maybe I picked the wrong one. Can you be more specific?
