Bonkers isn't it. The Conservatives didn't do it either, but I'm sure they'll be having a right pop about this over the coming weeks

I was really excited when I signed some OSA related paperwork many years ago, felt like James Bond :) - I recently had to sign the Dutch version, which is called the "Voorschrift Informatiebeveiliging Rijksdienst" which sound much more exciting though

Note: I had to look up what it was I signed, no way could I remember that !

But the OSA doesn't qualify who I'm not allowed to divulge to... it tells me to expect the worse IF I divulge... so what was the problem in prosecuting these two, if they did it then throw the book (and the shelf) at them.

Sound like a clever arsed barrister taking the piss

I've no doubt it is....

I live on an estate with affordable housing. I say affordable but they are those 25% owned by government jobbies, no idea how that works.

Anyway, all the problems we have going off our estate Facebook group, is kids riding their bikes in the way of cars and noisy parties. All of which are the "posh" houses.

I know it's different in the Shires and also Daubhill.

I actually like to see kids on their bikes and don't mind the odd party... my neighbour plays guitar in a band and I often hear his Telecaster rattling away.

Facebook groups are full of humourless busy bodies... I look over the wife's shoulder and felt really good when some old cow moaned about where my car had been parked 😁

Housing should be structured to create communities not attract Hedge Fund Investors

I agree entirely.

I've not sidestepped anything, if you didn't say it then I apologise, I thought you did, when you were blathering on about him being a great disruptor as and when the tariffs were being announced. Happy to admit I was wrong

I wouldn't say I'm an expert... contracting is more my bag but I did work for a defects surveyor for 10 years doing the inspections.

Smaller homes for older people is a good idea, both of our mothers became trapped in empty 3 bed houses after our fathers passed away and moving them into sheltered accommodation really did give them both new leases of life as these places really do have a community spirit.

In my village, the modern houses were built in the 80s and have a good proportion of bungalows obviously built with retirees in mind, however house prices in relation to earnings has made the family houses unaffordable and families are moving into the bungalows and extending (they have 1980s plot sizes).

I'm a "senior" these days and we want to downsize and keep some equity back, rainy day fund if you like... a bungalow would be perfect but finding what we want and finding something where we can squirrel some funds away is proving very difficult.

Could be a way forward here to release larger houses if more retirement homes at lower prices were available... might also take some burden away from long term care if the arrangement could be subsidised by Government and care vouchers or something offered.

I agree as I think there is also a blockage in the housing stock, family homes being occupied by those who dont really need the space any longer (neighbour on the other side is a lady who lives alone and her kids live in Essex) garden alone is difficult for her to upkeep. Again, she shouldn't have to move away from an area to find a more suitable place to live that she might be better suited to (i give her a lift to the station as the walk is also now too far for her)

As for 'poor houses' - good quality family homes, not sink estates. Yes people will buy nicer properties if they have the cash but there does need to be more state involvement to make sure good quality affordable housing is available - and in areas that are in desperate need of it.

I think its one of the biggest challenges we face as a country.

Wasn't required but thank you anyway.

There are plenty of things Trump thinks, does or allies himself with that I disagree with. The needle on the my ratings meter does however land in the green section regarding overall approval. Whether it stays there, moves further right or into the red will depend on what comes next. Providing the solution to the current issue in Gaza? Vengeance against judiciary weaponisers using their own tactics against them? Even better relationship (political, military and economic) with the UK? All of these would have me ruing the fact that he couldn't have four more years.

I won't bother listing them. If you haven't seen them then it's probably better you remain in a (non hallucinogenic) mushroom like state.

Feel free to share, I'm open minded when it comes to this sort of thing, it's not like I blindly back the lib dems

I'm happy enough with them having seats and votes in and around my area regardless of who is in charge

Judiciary Weaponising now officially at number one on the Bolty bingo card.

And yet they still took 61 seats off the Tories last time out to their best ever total of 72

I know you've moved on from Tories to Reform

But knowing how much you've backed various Tories leaders over the years, that must've been hard to rather to take

Be interesting to see if reform can take those seats back

The reason the libs do it is to actually get the media talking about them, if they dont they never get any coverage despite being the third biggest party.

The Tories are getting squeezed on all sides - and thats despite having a good conference, and a decent leaders speech, but is anyone actually listening to what they are saying to turn the dial?

We cannot entrust volume house builders and their investors with expanding our housing stock... it's another water company esque fiasco waiting to happen.

Housing Ministers are always swayed by the House Builders Federation which is a political lobby group... Note to myself.. go into the loft and dig out my correspondence with Grant Shapps

There are many theses written by archtects and planners about building sustainable communities and none look anything like a Barratt Homes brochure.

If this Government are serious about affordable house building then they need to review how they are going to achieve their targets for the benefit of ordinary people
