My granddaughter attends Thorpe Hesley Primary School which is about 98% white and Christian yet under the radar and without advising parents they’ve just decided that all meat will be halal. 🤷‍♂️

Anybody who doesn’t consider that this country hasn’t changed more for the worst in the last 30 years than in the previous 800 is kidding themselves and what’s more frightening is how much it will continue to change over the next 30 years unless somebody with the balls to do something serious about it it starts to affect it now.

 

I've been in Rotherham most Thursdays TBF and it's not much different to the other towns of it's size I've worked in. The nerd in me was chuffed with with Rotherham town centre as there's an excellent Pokémon store there. 

Town centres across the country are on their arse and it's nothing to do with immigration. The retail and entertainment world has changed massively and rapidly and towns that have adapted quickly are faring better. The middle classes are shopping on line or at big retail parks (such as Parkgate and middlebrook) leaving shops in smaller centres reduced to cheap, charity, vape style shops or bookies. The size and closeness to the town centre of Parkgate have much more to do with Rotherham town centres struggles than the Thursday market and it's customers.

Nowt wrong with Rotherham in my view... they gave us my current all-time favourite band, the Reytons 🤪.

I worked in the area quite a lot in the 80s... abit rough and tumble but had a good vibe, still visit from time to time and as you say no different to most other towns trying to reinvent itself.

All I know is that many people take solace from the madness around us thorough their religion, spirituality should not be outlawed, otherwise we would all be completely brain dead

I'm not overly religious by the way, I remember how my parents, especially my widowed mother were supported in their later years by their Church.

I enjoy visiting religious houses no matter what their denomination, feeling the belief and unity is inspiring.

Well over summer, Herne Bay clocktower got taken over with drunkards shouting 'never trust an immigrant'

Today over a thousand people ran in santa suits for the local end of life charity (sorry the pic is a bit wonky) raised a few hundred quid which means a nurse can make sure that someone who is at end of life can spend christmas at home.

I say this because fundmentally, we are better than this bickering and why I personally hate the raise the flag shit, because it devisive and not what the best of this country was built on.
