So, according to this, we get 10 times back that we pay into the EU...

Check out @rjbarfield1’s Tweet:

Economic benefits of £3 per day. That's 10 times the investment. Very good. Those economic benefits are immediately going to disappear then?

No more trade with the EU?

No more cooperation on things like research, security etc?

Come back later when there's something to compare.

I think my facts outweigh Winchester White’s by a long way mate :D

The EU isn’t the best investment ever.

In footballing terms, the EU is more Bolton Wanderers than Manchester City.

There is nothing to compare as we don't know what our arrangement will be outside EU membership yet.

What we do know is that we are currently benefiting to the tune of 10 times our investment.

There are pros and cons to being in the EU for sure but for me the positives outweigh the negatives hugely.

We all have opinions, no problems there, but the figures in the report and the comments suggest as this will be lost.

Just more fear and guff.

These are obviously individuals with some academic abilities. Why the hell don't they put it to proper use and help to make post brexit Britain the best it can be?

We've had all this for years. It didn't wash.

Time to move on. Review it all at a suitable juncture when genuine assessments can be made.

They went the same way that Boris' and his chums empty promises did

All time employment highs after George’s empty vessel “reality check”......no one forecast those highs did they ?

I wonder if we look back in a few years time and say the same when our nation is thriving after our exit from the EU ?

I think we will be.

I am not defending GO and his promises but it works both ways Si, there were lies on both sides. Who knows who will be right or wrong in the end, maybe we will never find out because there will be so many variables. Let's hope folks don't lose their jobs, that people's lives are not made poorer because of this and that we can continue to thrive.

I know you’re not defending him Pete, but I’m merely showing a proven fact of what has actually happened since we voted to Leave.

It’s not an If, a maybe, a could be, an estimate......it’s a proven fact re employment.

I’m sure there will be many proven facts to measure and post when we’ve left, then all the younger ones will see for themselves why the older posters don’t fear us leaving the EU.

What happens if you get your way and we stay in the EU and the EU continues to oversee the slowest growing part of the world while imposing more of the same things that lead to this being so? A moribund currency, stifling regulation, total and utter unaccountability, just to mention a few.

As per usual you talk like your beloved status quo is delivering now and should therefore remain in totally unaltered in perpetuity. It's a very short-sighted way of trying to sustain an argument. That status quo is under siege - and you are a "crisis what crisis" merchant.

Happy days then but what happens if you are wrong?

According to your side.....we’ll be on Auschwitz style rations, planes won’t fly, we can never leave the UK again, flowers will cost a million pound for a bunch on Valentine’s Day.

We survived and thrived for many years without the EU, we’ll do it again.....quite ironic, as the EU is now floundering whereas world growth outside it is thriving........that bullet point speaks volumes and why so many expert wankers depend on the EU for their gravy train and lining of pockets...

Get out of your EU utopia, and get positive about the future..

Dzien wieczor.

So you're trying to tell me that the Euro is working, southern Europe is thriving, the EU is fully democratic and transparent and overseeing the fastest growing part of the globe?

I never said that. Our economic fortunes are primarily driven by domestic policy as you remind us constantly about disasterous socialist governments previously. So what happens if these glory years don't happen? I am pretty sure you haven't predicted everything correctly in your life, or maybe you have?

Priceless aren’t they Paul ?

Amazing how not a single remain voter on here will even contest those points....they’ll just divert as always.

I’ll buy the first remainer on here a pint, if he can make any valid argument to your points.

So what happens if it doesn't work out the way you predict? You can't pay bills with positivity and hope
