August 25, 20178 yr Author Following the great Eddie Hopkinson was never going to be a easy gig , good shot stopper .
August 25, 20178 yr Barry Siddall had just taken over when I started going so don't think I ever saw him but I know that my Dad didn't rate him That said he was a Wanderer so RIP
August 25, 20178 yr He was a "character" for sure, but wouldn't make my top 20 of Bolton keepers in my lifetime.
August 25, 20178 yr Bet he'd have waved a hand in the general direction of the ball for the second tonight.
August 25, 20178 yr He was our keeper when I started watching the Whites, RIP Bozzy Joined after I started going but only a few years after RIP Edited August 25, 20178 yr by RUREADY2ROLL
August 26, 20178 yr Remember him signing to replace the late great "Hoppy" I was only a kid but recall feeling underwhelmed sad to hear he's gone though.
August 26, 20178 yr Some interesting information on wikki about him, a bit of a pioneer. And his daughter.
August 26, 20178 yr Saw him at one of earliest games Memory says last match of the seasn against Norwich, 0-0. He dribbled the bal up to the half way line....? RIP Edited August 26, 20178 yr by boltondiver
August 28, 20178 yr Remember him well. A real shock to the system after the inimitable Hopky. Wasn't he our keeper when we had that short dalliance with the all white kit with red numbers? RIP
August 28, 20178 yr If my memory serves me correctly, yes we wore all white with red numbers. We were very poor at the time and as is often the case, keepers don't look good in poor sides. Difficult times. He played a lot of games for Shrewsbury and so I'm sure he must have been decent. Hopefully their fans saw the best of him. RIP.

September 1, 20178 yr Think that he was a Nat Lofthouse signing. Remember him in the all white kit. You couldn't see any white on the goalie after 10 minutes because he was covered in mud.
