Hurricane Irma

185 mph winds. That's scary and awe inspiring at the same time. I remember as a lad trying to walk down Wigan Rd the year when we had our hurricane - winds must have been about 70 max and we were leaning straight into it - linking arms so we didn't blow over.

Just an update lots of flooding but Mrs and lad all safe, thanks for your messages fellas.

  • I heard JetBlue were putting extra planes on and charging just $99 for short-haul domestic flights, as a gesture of goodwill and excellent advertising/PR.

Mother nature can be a bitch when she wants.

She will kill us all eventually

Is mother nature purely of this world?

A philosophical question- if you were twatted by a meteorite, is that still her, or someone else?

not for me

nature is everything

simplistically, much of what is on this planet is "defined" or stems from the gravity holding us all together

gravity is everywhere

unless you consider mother nature a subset of god, tasked with keeping an eye on earth, or something

Agree entirely.

For me mother nature is a better description than god.

Wasn't always 'au fait' with all things physics/physical chemistry, the maths did my head in- but the concept of entropy is ace. That and the sun do for me.

Some shocking videos from Mexico City kicking about :(

That region has taken one hell of a beating
