All those teams have players who can score goals though. Our squad isn't terrible, but we're so short of people to score - how many in our squad have scored double figures in a season at this level? Not just up front, but in midfield too. We struggled this way even last season, relied on set pieces and Wheater and Beevers. This league though, you don't win as many corners and free kicks so we're struggling in that way.

Vela scored plenty from midfield. Last year. He may continue once fit, but to be honest, without a load of chances being created, no one is likely to get towards 20 goals a season.

If you don't have a regular goalscorer you need goals throughout the side. That is my point. We don't have enough goals at this level in the teams we are sending out.

Conceding less than 3 would be a start. Got to find a way of keeping teams to nil then you always have a chance. We aren't going to out score many in this league.

Pretty much every match, we have conceded within the first 20/30 minutes.

 

Here are the examples;

 

Leeds(H)- 7th Min

Derby(H)- 8th Min

Hull (A)- 13th Min

Boro (H)- 13th Min

Sheff U(H)- 33rd Min

West H(A)- 4th Min

 

This isn't a coincidence. This is a trend that needs to be addressed, as we are simply not giving ourselves a chance against very dangerous teams.

 

The blame has to go to the concentration of the players, and the tactics of the manager.

 

We need to be the one attacking and not making it easy for opposition, and get off to an early goal.

Hopefully we will see at Brentford, but I have little hope unfortunately.
