maaarsh Posted August 3, 2018 Author Posted August 3, 2018 Might be losing this First game of the series - seems to be the England way. We've had to work quite hard to throw away 2 winning positions this time though Quote
Underpants Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Is it compulsory to have a beard in the Indian cricket team? Their ladies team is the same. Quote
Whites man Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Facing Ashwin and Sharma must be like facing Warne and McGarth, bloody difficult. Quote
famouswanderer Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Piss poor. Test side has been poor for some time now Quote
Guest Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Test cricket is the pinnacle For the connoisseur Quote
MalcolmW Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 (edited) Sam Curran what a knock....... 87/7 to 180 all out. And Jimmy was untroubled as he didn't face a ball and so ended on his modal score of 0*. Edited August 3, 2018 by MalcolmW Quote

maaarsh Posted August 3, 2018 Author Posted August 3, 2018 You really are a strange person You have a bizarrely high response rate to my posts, always a boring personal attack rather than on topic - how about you just block me if I irritate you so much. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 First game of the series - seems to be the England way. We've had to work quite hard to throw away 2 winning positions this time though Certainly frustrating, but not giving up just yet. Quote
Traf Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Absolutely gripping. You can shove your ODIs and T20's. Test Cricket rules. Quote
maaarsh Posted August 4, 2018 Author Posted August 4, 2018 Decent chance to snap our 3 series streak of getting rolled in the first match. We've made so many bad mistakes that to still have a chance suggests we should beat this lot pretty solidly once we start catching and stop running out our best players. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Kohli said post match they were miles off the levels they can be, and they would be very competitive once they got to 85% of their capabilities. Spine quite well actually, I'd formed the impression he was a bit of a cock. Looking forward to what could be a tremendous series. Perhaps the tests lasting a bit longer would help but bring it on. Underpants Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Cricket needs more pantomime villains like Kohli. Great player and plenty to say, i like it. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Woakes. If ever a played showed his doubters wrong its him. I was one of them. May never be a world beater but a reliable team man. Quote
MickyD Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Woakes for Stokes or Foakes, folks? Or maybe some other blokes. Quote
maaarsh Posted August 5, 2018 Author Posted August 5, 2018 Woakes for Stokes or Foakes, folks? Woakes or Moeen by the looks of it. Nice to see the Malan misadventure is over. Never seen Pope bat but hard to argue with a young player with that sort of record Quote

maaarsh Posted August 5, 2018 Author Posted August 5, 2018 Poor do dropping someone after the first test of a series In this case the mistake was ever picking him - he has a 12 year first class career which proves he's not good enough, but they picked him on the back of a good T20I performance and have struggled to get shot of him since. You can call it the start of a series, of you can call it match 3 of 7 this summer, where he's managed a top score of 28 across 3 Test matches. Costing the team 120 runs in the field probably didn't help his cause either... Quote
maaarsh Posted August 5, 2018 Author Posted August 5, 2018 Plus they'd rather not pick lefties - maybe a good sign for Woakes if he's fit now over Moeen Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Not sure Kent and mickbrown are good enough anyhow. Quote
