though if the takeover was very close, maybe we would be bringing players in

True, but maybe just not in time for tomorrows game. Better to postpone it now, rather than hang on until tomorrow afternoon. If Saturdays game gets postponed, then I really do think it's time to worry

Literally thousands of lads at Conf level and below would jump at the chance of playing league football on a non-contract basis.

Personally I think it’s the right decision, with regards to the young lads, and yes I have no doubt the would be itching to play. The biggest concern is the position of the takeover and like a few on here I’m wondering if it will happen in time .

This is what I was thinking, I know a couple Confrence North level, semi pro, would rip your arm off

Add to the fact 4 lads against Coventry were 20 or older (surely adults who can handle two games a week), Chuck in the 4 ‘senior pros’, we should be easily able to cobble together a team to keep going (safely)

I really fear for us now we have missed this

Rather lose 15-0 and get 0 points than miss a game and get a points deduction like Boro

The statement says....

‘it is very difficult to attract available players to the club.’

Not if they would sign and play for free for a once in a lifetime chance at league football

Bollocks this

If they are on a free what have they got to lose to signing a short term deal? I understand loans won't want to come but surely frees have nowt to lose. If we disappear they can sign somewhere else.

And if they got injured?

Yep its a good point. But if they are a free transfer and aren't playing they could get injured in training tomorrow. And be in same boat. There is a risk there but I'd have thought better to take an offer than risk not going anywhere?

So, checked the @EFL twitter to see if they have anything to say after being blasted by Parky.

What have they tweeted today..

A retweet of Sky showing Sammy Ameobi's class, and a retweet of a Tranmere tweet.

I get the feeling they're rubbing our noses in it now...

Nixon keeps saying there is another party interested in the club. But admin sticking with FV. If it’s fact why won’t admin entertain there interest. I’m fully aware of people’s view on Nixon, but there’s always the chance he’s right.

I think the risk is the increased chance of getting injured when parachuted in to a game (Does anybody remember Juergen Sommer) without the necessary preparations and, in all likelihood, without any guarantee of on-going payment or insurance if we were to fold.

Semi-pro’s would be the way but how does that affect squad registration numbers?

One thing's certain. The Hotel is worth zilch without the football stadium.

Nonsense. In fact you’ve just won most stupid post ever and that takes some doing on here so well done

He's been spouting on abiut Kamani brothers getting the club via the hotel  for a while now.

Don't know their intentions, don't really care at this point. FV have had enough time to get this done. If Boohoo are viable, just get it done.

what if they sign for us, and then we spend the next 6 months fucking about, and they end up not getting paid for all that time........it's surely going to be part of their thought process you would have thought. Although I suppose if they're still a free agent, then the likelihood is that they're utter dogshit and nobody else wants them anyway (or their wage demands are too high, which means we wouldn't be signing them anyway)

Hang on. Is it? If the club goes bust and redevelopment is planned surely the hotel goes as well? Unless they have tenants lined up?

owning the land the hotel is on could be somebodys game

and if the club is liquidated and somebody wants the land, the land the hotel is on could be worth much more than now?

Tens of thousands of people play the game without a contract. You get injured then you don't play until you are fit. You probably aren't going to get Lionel Messi but it's got to be better than putting a load of 16 year old kids in the line of fire.

Just walked into Spanish supermarket in Quesada and what’s being played on the supermarket radio station but Dion and the Belmont’s the Wanderer, it’s a sign I’m sure we’re going to be just fine. 👍

Lots of hoops to jump through before that and I suspect planning permission wouldn’t be a given?

Thats why I ask
