Spectators allowed 17th May, surprise surprise season finish’s 8th May. . Grass roots 29th March, leaves no time to finish season, , pubs & restaurants 3 months from opening with no prove of spread risk and a clinically managed Enviroment, major spread risks is schools & colleges open March 8th with major spread risk to the largest unvaccinated portion of the population They're a useless set of cunts.

I get what you mean but pubs and restaurants are not clinically managed environments. Some are very well run and socially distanced of course but many are a free for all.

The end of the day, kids education is going to come before a pint or a meal.

Still think it is risky though, maybe just year 11 first then other years after Easter would be better?

I'm inclined to agree with you, I think they have fucked up big time, I cannot see people going along with another lockdown.

Sage have just said that with starting to open up in 2 weeks,  they think there's going to be another 30k covid deaths between now and June and, if they get the timings wrong another 120k on top after that. I've read some of the modelling, it's all over the place -  they haven't got a scooby, mainly because they dont know exactly how efficacious the vaccine is going to be in younger ages yet and they dont know how many vaccines they can deliver, FFS.

Hopefully we'll have a hot as fuck spring and everyone gets the wndows open and spends time outdoors.

Not yet, but fingers crossed.

People forget that us being allowed to travel doesn't mean we can travel. Lots of countries don't/won't want us in.

My Ashes trip is off, as Australia are 99% not re-opening the borders until 2022.

Next year I might need to ask you about a proper holiday abroad. we've not been able to afford to go away as a family side from Paris and I want to take the kids (whilst they still want to) abroad. Your challenge - family of 5, skinty poos, summer 2022.....

Camping in the UK is great, but its nearly 10 years now.

"Based on trust"

The flaw in the plan

Nothing should be relaxed till at least the first jab phase is complete

And then only relaxed for those who have had it - schools, hospitality, non essentials, the lot

Those that don't have it for whatever reason should have to wait till everyone else has had two

But the under 40s ain’t getting it until end of May, most under 40s have kids at school, perfect for spread of infection.

Quite.

This is the concern obviously, especially with the kent version being the predominant one.

They've accepted an increase will happen, its just to be hoped the constant vaccination will have an effect on community spread and help reduce or at least prevent numbers from increasing dramatically.

I suppose should numbers increase a bit more than envisaged, then at least the next phase of reopening will be delayed until the 4 tests are met.

I'm not quite convinced, but in general it all seems fairly balanced. Just got to see what happens.

Is that confirmed?

I thought it was someone’s guesswork

Fair enough, my 13 year old had it and had a half day of a headache and sore legs for one day.

I have worse hangovers

Haha

And that's the point isn't it

All the studies say its not messing kids up

But then they say similar about most sub 50s

A tory said today 20k, I think, die of flu

100k ish from smoking

Let's ban smoking and get the pubs open

Everyone should have had first jab by July 31st

April 15th for priority groups

Relaxing from then would make sense

Sending kids back before April 15th is mental

also my 10 and 8 year old, same house with her, were negative. Now if they've had it before they hadn't got a bloody clue. My nephew's the same. I dunno, I don't want to dismiss it but everyone in my eldest's school seem to have it and they bounced back quicker than a squash ball.

It's not happening - they know loads more people may die because they haven't been vaccinated in time, but it seems they would rather chance that than delay opening up a bit.

The modelling reports I'm looking at do not look good at all - which is probably why they're doing the 5 week review between each unlocking.

I just don't unerstand the strategy,  schools are a high risk, Sage say it going to increase the R rate by bettwen 10% and 50% - so why not vaccinate the teachers and parents if you wan them open early? I don't get it - they could do the teachers in a weekend.

It isn’t in the programme for everyone to be vaxxed
